Simple noob question. What are the stock rim sizes and can I get 17x9 wheels on stcok tires?....

For an 01 GT, the stock rim size is 17 x 8.  A stock size of 245/45-17 will fit on a 17 x 9 rim but it will be stretched to the max rim width range.

I have probably a stupid question, but is there anyway that some 17" rims can fit on some stock tires? it is an 02 V6 stang...and i dont know the calculation so i asked this question. Thanks

I believe that your tires should be 245/45/17 as well ,not positive since it's a v6 though. If you aren't sure just check out the side wall to make sure. If they are in fact that size then yes the tires will fit on another set of 17" rims just as long as the wheel isn't too wide. I doubt you could go any wider than 9" with that size tire as Colin stated.

The 245 in the size represents the width of the tread in mm, the 45 represents the sidewall height in relation to the treadwidth, and the 17 of course is the rim diameter.
