Since it is a project car, the first thing I would pay attention to is the suspension and the brakes. Get those upgraded before you start worrying about the exhaust. But, since it is a 289, at least upgrade the single exhaust to a dual exhaust. I run an "X" pipe and I use Ravin mufflers. The Ravins give you a nice rumble at idle, and going through the gears, but can barely be heard at highway speeds. I like to listen to music at highway speeds, not the drone of the mufflers which is what the Flow Master's give you. But, I am an old man, so what do I know.

So I hardly ever listen to it Heheh.

ORIGINAL: mustangGTdude1031 what engine and year model is your Soaring?? As you can see by the sig pic, it is a 65. I also have a 289. Lol on the original AM radio. I also have that, and the static won't let me get much reception since I live in west Texas where the distance between stations causes this effect. I put in a CD stereo, and I placed the thing in the glove box with all the wires running to the front door and back package tray speakers.

lol, yell we wont make it that extensive but he wants to rebuild the engine and bore it out into a 302, put a cam in it, headers, etc. it will prolly be more like a show car with a chrome engine and all. we prolly wont drag race it.
