ive been reading a few topics here and there about people wanting to do cosmetic mods like body kits or some wanting to make their cars look like cobras now alot of mustang owners frown on this and call it "misbadging" or "posing" now this kinda conflicts with what i had planned to do in about a year or so i kinda wanted to put a cobra front bumper and a spoiler put on but it dawned on me that it could be considered misbadging but my reasoning behind it is the fog lights on the 94-98 cobras are awesome looking and the regular ones arent too flattering (no offense j thorn) would me putting on that front bumper make me a misbadger? any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated (especially at the risk of being labeled misbadger or ricer)

if you want to put it on, go ahead, it's your car. i don't consider a front bumper to be posing. the stock v6/GT front bumper looks like ass anyway. it's when you go all out and do a complete clone, complete with badging that it's frowned upon. but again, it's your car.

ya like they said wen u go all out and badge it like a cobra and make it look exactly like 1 then its misbadging, but just a front bumper isnt gone to hurt any. it doesnt make u anything than being creative.
I agree, I think it's fine. I plan on putting a Saleen front bumper on my V6, just because I like the look of it. Picking out different pieces of a body kit can make your car unique. But like others have said, as long as you don't try to make your car into a clone and try to pass it off as a real Cobra, you're fine.

It's not bad at all as long as you don't go as far as putting Cobra bades on the car, that's a no no in my book. My car is badged as a Cobra, and that's simply because my GT badges were falling apart and I had my Cobra badges to match up with my engine mods. On a V8 it's not as bad because you can always make a GT a Cobra of some sort, which is what I'm doing as I have all the necessary Cobra parts for the engine, but you can't do a V6 like that. In other words, pop open a GT - Cobra conversions hood and pop open a sixers and you'll see the difference. A GT conversion you'll never know unless you run the VIN number and or ask the owner, the V6 will be obvious.
What!? Are you joking? Not true at all. It's not a true Cobra, so don't badge it that way. You can swap a Cobra motor into a V6 and say the same thing about it looking the part....but it's not a Cobra.

Yea I'm sure u and ur STOCK GT would kill it
You do know it is not STOCK right? Are you just being sarcastic.
He's making almost 500hp.
547RWHP actually, but that's beside the point.
lil roush, that's not badged and a complete clone. i'm talking about a complete clone with nothing to back it up. hell, even a GT cobra clone would be fun. there's actually a silver 99-04 GT Mach1 Cobra (yes, it had a GT badge and a Mach1 badge on the back and snakes on the side) that rides around in a housing development up the street from me. some of the body kit was still the lovely white on his silver car.

don't tell me "when i get". i hear that all the time. everyone is getting something at some point. tell me what you have. we're not in highschool anymore.
besides, you're most likely nowhere near me and i'll be damned if i'm traveling anywhere to race some guy from a message board. it's easy to challenge people over the internet. 9 times out of 10, nothing happens. i said i wish i'd run into one, i didn't say i'm going to drive accross the country to see one.
