i got mine because i am 15 and all my friends are either going to get a big 4 wheel drive car to go off roading that is terrrible on gas or a little honda and drive down the road with the annoying muffler noise. also ive always wanted a mustang period. and i could never find a newer mustang for a good price. then i started looking at the other ones and well i saw the movie BULLIT. and the fastbacks were too exspensive for me and i liked the 69 coupes better. so there ya go

OH YA, AND BECAUSE ALL MY FRIENDS ARE JEALOUS I GOT ONE AND THEY GOT THERE GRANDMAS OLD CADILLAC

My first car was a 89 5.0 mustang so when I upgraded naturally stayed a Ford fan. I have the best of circle of friends, one has a 67 Camaro, another has a 70 Road runner and a 67 Barracuda, another has a 03 SVT Corbra vert and the last has a prostreet 62 Fairlane, so I have had the opportunity to go for rides in all and my favorite is my Fastback..

I just always loved the lines of the classics and it carried over to future generations. Never owed a Ford until the 66 coupe two years ago and now I have my 2nd as my DD. It took over 20 years but I finally got my wish

I have my 67 coupe because I like it. I look at cars as art, and I like what I like. As a true automotive enthusiast, I don't have loyalty to one particular brand.

I bought my mustang because it looked cool and it was cheap. Unlike the GTO, Camero, and Firebird this car was cheap.(I'm only 15)Also my mom wouldnt let me get a 95 Civic and trick it out. But she would let me get a mustang so i decided ill go with the stang and get the civic later.

In my case, you have to go back to 1964. I was taking delivery of a 64 Fairlane Sports Coupe with a 289 Hi-Po engine in late April, 64. On the showroom floor were a bunch of these new models called Mustangs. They didn't offer the 289 Hi-Po then so my interest was not high. In fact, the dealer was willing to let me trade my new Fairlane for any Mustang I wanted. I said no.
In 1965, the Fastback body was introduced. That was my car. The only problem I had was my Fairlane's payments. Back then we avoided the stigma of having a 'daddy's car', we earned our way on our own.
In 1966, I got my first Mustang, a Fastback. It was a special order, 289 'A' code, 4 speed, console, handling package, dual exhaust, no radio, Signalflare Red exterior, black interior. Again the dealer wanted to do a swap for any other Mustang. I said no.
Face it, I like Fastbacks, body style 63. When I got out of the Navy, my first car was a used 60 Ford Starliner, body style 63. I've owned 6 Fastbacks (one was a 69 Sportsroof - same thing) and one hardtop. I'm hooked.

Its America's Pony car. The Legend. No matter what age group, or where you go, they will recognize it. What year did the Camero disappear? I actually have a love for all the old cars but simply like the Stangs more. I also have the most respect for anyone that takes it on to save on of these, no matter what make.
On edit: Sorry I forgot, I hate BMW's. Something about Porcupines.

Not getting the reference... I love my bmw... It's not the fastback I wanted but for my first car I am 100% happy.

When you are in a classic Mustang, you are somebody.  When you are in a Beamer, you are just another driver.

Yeah I realize that. As soon as I turn 18 and sell my bmw back to my parents for my sister... I'm coming for that fastback.

Also, I was looking to get a classic (pre 1975) so that I would be exempt from any sort of emissions restrictions.

I was born into a mustang family.  I do think it is absolutely gorgeous.  I drove my 67 in a 4th parade yesterday.  I was right behind a 68 corvette convertible.  All I herd from the crown as we passed by was
“Look at the mustang”
“nice mustang”
“wow an old mustang”

Never been a big fan of Camaros, too curvy for my taste, I just love the boxy look of my stang.

There is just something about the Mustang that draws you too it. Couldn't explain it without getting poetic.
Ever see the movie 'The Outsiders'? I was restoring my '66 when it came out. There's a line in it that stuck with me ever since: "Mustangs, they're tough".

I grew up around the fifties volvos.  My step dad loved them.  wasnt until a couple years ago that I started appreciating them.  My dad is a die hard chevy man and I dont think he likes the fact that all I drive are fords.  I have wanted a mustang since the late eighties when I was in high school and the ironic thing is now that I have one it is going to be my wifes daily driver so I wont get to drive it all that much.  I am actually looking for a 28 - 30 Model A truck to restore after I am done with the 65 stang.  My wife is trying to talk me into buying my buddies (I believe it is a ) 70 mustang and restore it for her and she will drive the 65 till I am done then I dont know what I would do with the 65.

My wife's 1st car was a '67 coupe.  When the 2005 mustangs came out I told my wife I wanted to buy a new 'vert when they came available.  Then I suggested a '67 vert and she approved.  I saved $20K and don't drive a car like everyone on the road.

It was mostly my decision, my mom had the car since '72 and had been sitting at my grandparents for about 10 years and when I turned 16 me and my grandpa got it running, and then my dad took over the reigns for my grandpa, and took it to where it is now.
