My wife and I went late last night....good overall.  I thought they would of captured the supercharger whistle/whine better on some of the sound clips for the Saleen, but the exhaust still sounded pretty mean.

P.S. Does anyone else remember Jazz (not to be confused with "Jazzer") being a white Porsche 911 back in the day.....rather than a Pontiac ?

You know steve saleen got hooked up with gm because of this movie and is going to be producing Camero Saleens now... wtf!?

anyway, as far as jazz being a pontiac now, it was very obvious gm paid a lot of money to have all there cars in that movie. just look at all the current gm commercials!

In the HBO Special regarding the movie, Micheal Bay was saying that he looked at many different cars ranging from Ferrari's to just regular cars and the only one that caught his attention was the Camero because of its retro look (personally, I think he got paid alot of money by GM as they only talked about the GM cars and nothing else).

I saw it last night. Sick movie. The Saleen looked pretty nasty..especially for a cop car. When the Saleen got into a race with the Camaro, the WHOLE movie theater went "OOOOOOH YEAH HERE WE GO!!" Hahaha. And yes Saleen is trying to get rights to the Camaro. They're looking at building a 500hp, 550hp and maybe even a 600hp supercharged beast.

there will be  no saleen camaro and the car that you guys saw in the movice is not a actual camaro its a pontiac gto converted into a camaro and they hired saleen the do the  work gm hired saleen to cover a gto into camaro so dont think that its the 2009 camaro in the movie its not its a prop of a gto with a gto pontaic engine and  camaro body here the link look at the guages its pontiac and cover by the bezel too .Its funny  90% people thing its a real camaro and dont even know its a gto and i work for universal studios i saw the car too look good but on the inside its all just a prop the brake discs are fake to behind it its stock gto brakes just to let you know .I dont belive the new camaro will look anything close to the concept just like the mustag did its gone be adiffrent car This is a movie prop, so it in no way necessarily indicates how the production Camaro will drive. In fact it has more in common with the just-discontinued, Aussie-made Pontiac GTO because under all that plastic there is a GTO — pulled straight out of GM's engineering R&D fleet. This feat is in itself nearly as impressive a feat of fabrication as any production car. And this car drives well. In fact it even did its own stunts.     http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=121044

Saleen was hired by GM at the suggestion of Steve Mann, the picture vehicle coordinator on Transformers, who while doing similar duties on the 2005 film XXX: State of the Union, had worked with Saleen in creating movie-car versions of Ford's Cobra concept. But beyond that, Mann had also worked directly with Steve Saleen on 2003's Hollywood Homicide and, coincidentally, their daughters had been roommates for a year while attending USC. In short, Steve Mann knew what Saleen could accomplish.

Since the GTO with its 109.8-inch wheelbase is already about the same size as the Camaro Concept with its 110.5-inch wheelbase, the Australian-built Pontiac became a natural base upon which to build the two Bumblebees. But the GTO is built around a unitized structure, so Saleen couldn't simply drop a new body onto the chassis. "Basically it was reverse-engineered by our build team," explains Bryan Chambers, the director of production at Saleen. "We had less than 45 days to build both cars so it was a barn-burner."Since the GTO with its 109.8-inch wheelbase is already about the same size as the Camaro Concept with its 110.5-inch wheelbase, the Australian-built Pontiac became a natural base upon which to build the two Bumblebees. "Basically it was reverse-engineered by our build team," explains Bryan Chambers, the director of production at Saleen. "We had less than 45 days to build both cars so it was a barn-burner."

To simplify, the bodies were chopped off the two 5.7-liter, LS1-powered GTOs while box frames of steel were welded up to compensate for the lost structure. Then a team led by Jon Zorn in Saleen's showcar body shop grafted on the GM-supplied fiberglass bodies that had been pulled from the same molds used to build the concept car.

Throw in an interior also formed with fiberglass pieces, a lot of detail components (like the composite hubcaps that make the huge steel wheels look like the alloys on the concept) and a couple gallons of gorgeous gold paint and the result is the car we're driving along the access roads outside the old Howard Hughes aircraft hangar.

CC: So are you going to do your own versions of the new Camaro?
Saleen: It's not legally official right now, but that's what we're hoping for.
CC: What kind of upgrades will you make, have you seen the engine GM is using in the Camaro?
Saleen: I hope I don't get in trouble with GM for saying this, but they're using a 6.2 liter 450 horsepower engine for the premium V8 in the 2009 Camaro and the base Corvette. The base V8 will probably be a detuned version of the same 6.2. So we'll just upgrade the 6.2 liter V8 to Saleen level specifications. We're going to upgrade the 6.2 liter V8 if we're given the legal chance by GM. Our base model should have around 485 horsepower, and expect our Extreme Supercharged Camaro to have over 600 horsepower.

WOW!... SALEEN100 went off on his own little rant didn't he. maybe you should read a little before you start acting like you know everything. so since you're too damn lazy to click on a link, polkthug was nice enough to put steve's saleens words up here in black and white. no one was calling the camaro in the movie a saleen camaro either. thanks for the info though
