Hey everyone i jus had a quick question, i hate the black plastic molding look of our side mirrors and desperately want to get mine painted or covered.  Now i know some people on here have had their rocker panels smoothed and painted, and i was wondering if anyone knows if this can be done to the side mirrors? has anyone done this? im assuming that the only other option if i cant get this done would be to either cover the mirrors, or replace them.  Im wondering if the covers using 3M tape would look funny from the drivers viewpoint, with it actually looking like a thick cover.....or does it look ok? and does anyone know the websites for these covers or replacement mirrors? Thanks in advance everyone.

Yes, there are companies out there that you can purchase a mirror cover. Here is just one example;

http://www.midwestautogear.com/

You can also paint your mirrors too. Here's a link that shows you instructions;

Here's odiaz's red Mustang with painted mirrors;

07 Stang, you seem to answer a lot of my questions, these side mirrors, my GT rocker panels (which turned out great by the way), jus wanted you to know that i really appreciate it, im new to the modding thing, my last car was a 88 oldsmobile cutlass, so i learned alot of upkeep by just doing it, but theres no way im taking the chance of messing somethin up just by doing it on my new stang......thanks for all the advice from you and everyone out there...

Thanks Zrz11386. I don't mean to come on here and be a know it all. I just save a lot of links for future references to things that I may be interested in.
I did see these whole mirror covers......this would be something I would buy;

Thanks for the info Ismellhonda, and 07stang i like those covers but i also want the pillar that the mirrors are based on painted to match the body color to, i know since mines black its jus me being picky and its not that noticable, but id rather do somethin right the first time rather than go back and have it redone.

And i in now way think your being a know it all, i just appreciate the advice and information you and everyone else on these boards have given me, and you havent steered me wrong yet.

It's a pretty simple job, any shop that can paint should be able to paint your mirrors. Just make sure you specify you need them smooth as well.

WOW!

Those look awesome!

Did the body shop paint them on your car or remove them for sanding first?

How much $$$?

Sand and have the body shop paint them or if your up to the challenge paint them yourself thats what I did! Im thinking about my next project now sanding and painting the window trim. I've seen it done on our stangs and it looks badass.

Here's mine
