Ok so a few weeks ago i got my 05 gt from a dealership for about 21k with 8700 on the odo. Anyway the first time i started up the car i was amazed by the sound, i thought there was no way the exhaust could be stock. But i looked at the tips and they looked stock, and i looked at the mufflers and there were no stamps or anything anywhere. My question is, did the 05's have any type of ford stamp on them or anything, these seem pretty loud for stock, and even drone a decent amount. My bro looked at the mufflers on an 07 gt, and he said ford was stamped on the bottom of them. Am i crazy or are these things really stock? i can get a sound clip up by tommorow.
Stock does sound pretty good on these cars, you can pretty much tell by looking at them post a picture of your car from the back. Did you check the mid pipe and all and see if it was the same. Im sure it hasnt been toyed with too much as far as cats go or it wouldnt have passed inspection to be sold

Well we have no emissions tests down here, so it could be sold with things tampered. I mean its not ungodly loud or anything but its definetly got some rumble to it. This is the best pic i have from the back right now.

ok guys its been a few weeks since i posted up this thread but i've been working 50 hour weeks at work, so im just startin to get some time now! Anyway, are these the stock mufflers?
lol, first time I started mine, it was like an orgasm...haha I got the car with MAC LT's, Bassani X, and Flowmaster weld-in Super 40s...its amazing... but now with those mac LT's open, its ungodly, i get smiles everywhere, and people at the track with faster cars didnt want to run (we had a no-time night last night, just 5 bucks to run for fun)

Amen to that brother!!!!
+2. i can't hear the god damn thing. its so quiet. last night at a car show (there are people around with louder cars, some idling/revving in the distance occaisionaly) me and my friend were in the car, i had it running, and we're ready to leave, some ricer revs up a bit away from us and my friend is like "start the car and show him whats up!" the car was already running
sorry, if i wasn't so darn lazy i'd go look at my stock muff's which are in a box....
from the looks of the new pics you posted, those could very well be some aftermarket units....i'm not sure what brand they are

I had the same concern with my 05 GT. I think its to loud to be stock, but the mufflers have the FORD stamp on them. Maybe ford made the exhaust quieter on 2006+

those look like the Flowmaster knockoffs that all muffler shops have, as well as PePBoys and Advance Auto...I think they're Flo-techs or something of that nature...I dont think they are Flowmasters.

Do all the stock gt mufflers have the ford stamp on them? This car was a lease and was traded in with 8500 miles so i can't see them doing to much to it. I imagined the original owner being some guy in his 60's just wanting a weekend driver lol. it definetly sounds pretty nice, but i need to hear another stock gt to really compare i think either way im gonna be getting some mac's but its just really bothering me and i want to know!
cold start up im guessing with the crackles.... sounds nice idleing.... I donno about the rev. warm it up and do ita gain and lets see what it sounds like, and get over 3k rpm. :P

Those in your pics are definitely not stock. They're not any of the well known brand muffs you see most of us have here too. They look to be flowmaster knock offs. They could be Hooker too though I'd expect some sort of label, so possibly the "Jegs" or "Summit" branded mufflers, but definitely not stock.
