Default Anyone use air blower to dry car?

Thinking of getting an air blower to dry my car. Any recommendations (brand/model and where to buy)? I don't want to get one that's too powerful or not powerful enough. I would also prefer a cordless one. Price is also a factor.

Any feedback or experiences appreciated. Thanks.

So you don't really recommend a leaf/air blower?

Well, I think it will be good to blow water out of cracks ( trunkand hood). I dont think mine is powerful enough. I tried it on the flat surfaces but it didnt seem to do all that great. Like i said though. It worked pretty good in the nooks and crannies.

ONR - Optimum No Rinse (ONR). Its a car wash but all you need is say 5 gallons of water. You dont need the waterhose anymore. It really sounds weird but it works. Its kinda like a quick detailer on steriods. You mix it up in a 5 gal bucket and also have a rinse bucket. You start with a panel. Squeeze out your wash mitt (or whatever you use) and you basically wipe the entire panel with it and then as soon as you get done you come behind it with a quality microfiber drying towel or waffle weave. Throw your mitt in the rinse bucket and ring it out and put it back in the wash bucket and start over. It really seems totally unorthodox to wash a car this way, but it works. I dont know if I could go back to a conventional wash ( I own a black car).

Sounds crazy but if you use it (and you have a black car) I would like to try it. I use Mr. Clean AutoDry now. It would actually be great for me because I live in S. Fla and we have been under water restrictions for about 3 months because of a drought so can only wash cars 2 days a week and between 5-8pm. Thanks!

Do a search over on Autopia about ONR. Alot of the guys there use ONR exclusively and hate to wash a car the traditional way. Its a leap of faith so to speak. I tried ONR out on an ambulance at work before I used it. Then before I used it on my car, I went to the car wash and sprayed it off. U might just start out by using it when the car has a little road film on it and then work your way up. ONR is an awesome product. You can use it as a clay lube and as a Quick Detailer ( 6oz in 24oz water). U can mix it up in QD form and spray a panel before you wash it with ONR. I mixed up some car soap/water one day a few months ago and just poured it out and got out the ONR. Just take your time at first and it will get easier for you. It takes me about 45 minutes to wash my car with ONR (wheels and tires too). So its about the same amount of time as traditionally washing your car, but there is just a little mess. Its also great in the winter. Mix it up with hot water and you dont get frost bite. There is a ton of info online about this stuff. Justin sells it as well as alot of other great products including his own line of products that are really really great!

That ONR sounds great might have to give it a shot sometime.

If I am going to do a full detail on my cars, I use the air compressor to blow the water out of the mirrors/rims/etc so it does come in handy. I've seen detailers use leaf blowers as well, but they usually have more of a channeled tip rather then a wide opening like they usually come with.

I don't recommend the leaf blower. First of all it is blowing unfiltered air, so if it is dusty or it sucks something in, guess where it is going Also, one day I was blowing off the company ride with my Craftsmen leaf blower, and the entire shoot assembly flew off and across the hood [] Now imagine how pissed I (or you) would have been if that was the 'Stang [:@] Buy one that is made for the job at hand, or just carrya micro fiber and a detail spray for the hourly touch ups until you've "driven" all the water out of the cracks.
