View Full Version : More Throat to the exhaust??? BBBilly 06-28-2007, 12:57 AM I want more rumble. Is 40 series flowmasters ok or not enough?????? TwotoneVert 06-28-2007, 05:48 PM Flowmasters and dumps FTW! I have heard good things about SLP's, I may try those when I replace my flows! ThisIsMyStang 07-02-2007, 12:56 AM I have 40 flows on mine with everything else being stock and it rumbles pretty good. The idle is not real loud but when you go threw the gears it sounds good, especially between 3,000 and 4,000rpms. It satisfied me for awhile but I plan on eventually getting LT's and a H pipe. Hope this helps! undecided.steve 07-03-2007, 02:14 AM ORIGINAL: BBBilly I want more rumble. Is 40 series flowmasters ok or not enough?????? I'm assuming you have a vert? If so, any of these systems will sound much louder in your car than in a coupe. Some of them drone so badly your ears will pop! That being said, keep your stock H-pipe and get a Bassani or Magnaflow catback. Both have a nice rumble but are not obnoxious and won't make your ear drums ache. They are also well made of 304 stainless and will last forever. Larmo 09-04-2007, 03:01 PM GTA Windex Monkey 09-04-2007, 06:28 PM I have Magnaflow X pipes and Flowmaster 40's and the sounds is great. There is a slight drone, but it's not that big of a problem. DuckyGt 09-05-2007, 01:45 AM Ihad some drone until I changed my gear ratio, doesnt drone till higher rpm now which makes it really tolerable. cruisin around town with the top down feels so righhhhttttt.:D lexy 09-17-2007, 06:28 PM Flowmaster are the ****!!! I love em with my BBK HPIPE. No stang ever sounded better then mine:) dangstang92 09-29-2007, 02:01 PM I have Flowmaster on now and they sound good with no drone, but I'm a big fan of SLP and will switch soon. blkthndr03 12-09-2007, 01:06 PM magnapacks all the way deadsexy383 12-09-2007, 03:21 PM i have a upr o/r x-pipe with magnaflow w/ magnapacks...the sound is AMAZING...i had flowmasters before, and the sound is WAY better now than with the flowmasters Veets44 12-09-2007, 06:58 PM I have a Mac off-road h-pipe with American Thunder Flowmasters. I must say there is a little drone at 2500 rpm, but it is tolerable. A gear change will adjust that though. JayDs Ibanez 01-05-2008, 03:35 AM kooks LT's and borla xr1's ftw! onesickstang01 01-05-2008, 08:54 AM i have bbk headers and h pipe with dual flowmaster 40 series. if you dont dump them you dont get a drone. the flows have rpms ranges where they get really loud though. i think 40 series is usuallly around 2500-3000rpm when they get worst drone. i never hit that drone though because i either shift before that driving normal or my engines rpms are flying right by that range and it isnt noticable :) silversol81 01-06-2008, 02:00 PM Simply switching out the midpipe will add more "throat" to the exhaust as well. |
