-Your catted x-pipes

I have a 95 gt mustang. I have bbk shorty equal length headers still in the box, and I have a mac cat-back on the car. Will a Magnaflow Tru-X X-Pipe catted fit my cars headers and cat-back? If so what gains are to be expected, which makes more power an h pipe or an X and my biggest concern is will it change the sound any?

Our x-pipe is designed to bolt up to the stock manifold and cat-back. Typically as long as they are in the same location of your stock headers/cat-back and have the same bolt/flange they should be fine. Even still we can't guarantee that it will bolt up with no problem because we have not tested it with that set-up.

Well my headers will bolt up to the stock h pipe and my catback is hooked up to the stock h- pipe so I will take it as it will most likely bolt right up.

But could you answer my question about difference in the tone or loudness of the exhaust?

Generally the h-pipe will be the louder of the two. X-pipes are quieter and will make more power.

hey guys,

i have a 2003 cobra.....i want to increase horses with an x exhaust and cold air intake as well.....

1st, is it possible to put and x pipe on my car. 2nd, do i need high flow cats with the x-pipe and "flow master mufflers" or the equivalent muffler that you sell to increase HP or can i skip the loud mufflers and keep mine???? the small problem is that i dont want it louder but if i must to gain maximum horsepower then ill sacrafice the quietness i already have.

thanks

Rob

Not to step on Magnaflow's toes here, but from my experience, a Magnaflow catted X-pipe and magnaflow (not magnapack) catback would be about perfect for what you're looking for.

The difference is noticeable in the tone moreso than the overall decible level. Some people find it too quiet for their aftermarket tastes, which is when you can go to a much louder magnapack catback.

Your mufflers SHOULD be changed out, as they are the most restrictive part of your catback. Unless you can find a shop to weld them in cheap, you may as well get the whole catback. Why buy a 2.5" mid-pipe that goes into a 2" catback?

Also, with a new catback, you can always swap out the mufflers, which is a much more daunting task with welded-in mufflers.

Not a problem acer. We appreciate any input from fellow members.
