Nitto drag radials, and only a 13 flat??? lol So you still wanna say a STOCK Mach 1 can run LOW 13's. Based on how you describe the performance of the Mach 1, I may underestimate them, but after reading that article, now I know someone is full of it..

I havent seen a FOX body run 13's stock ever. Close to stock yes, LX5.0 will run a very high 13 with traction. What a Mach runs Im not sure, most around here are to skeered to go to the track, where as the Cobra owners are there often enough. One thing to remember about magazines, most times are altitude corrected. ie the car is slower than they say but its at a high desert track or something, like 2300 ft. My track back home was 2500 ft. The track here is around 40-100 ft above sea level. guess what, my 11 sec Bird runs nearly the same times. My 13 sec GTO runs exactly the same times. So IMO the corrected times are BS. Tell me what it ran for real, not what it could run on a perfect day in paradise with a tailwind. If a STOCK GT can run a 13 I will be impressed, like VERY IMPRESSED. The 03 Cobra's down here are getting low 8's stone stock with factory tires. Like 8.4-8.2. Yes in the 12's but not far in them. Mostly about a low 13. Something running a 12.6 with a 2.2 60 ft is doubtful to me unless it has a trap speed of near 110 or better. Most RWD cars that can pull a 12.6 will have at the very least a 1.9 60ft. Just what I have seen with my own eyes.

I know that the times we get at our track aren't corrected...

Mysterious, you are exactly right. Its good to hear from someone who seems to know the truth. I have an 03 Gt, and believe me, I want to say it could run 13's stock, but it won't without slicks. I said it before, you gotta stop stretching those numbers at some point.

coming from both worlds i had a civic hatch with a b16a and now i have a 92 gt convert....id have to say there is no freakin way that a crx/civic could beat a gt...just riding in the crx/civic you dont really feel the torque as you do in a gt...i spent 4000 on the 90 civic back in 96....spent about 2000 on the swap plus bulls**t misc. 500 bucks....thats freakin 6500....just this month i bought the 92 gt convert for 2800 with pretty much all the goodies...jba headers, fr injectors, springs, exhaust, etc. so civic+b16a=160hp mustang + stock V8=rice crispies my opinion.....f*ck rice....i needed some v8 balls...

just cuz you don't feel it, doesn't mean it's not as quick. You might "feel" torque more in a '94 Mustang GT than my car (at low speed, not high speed), but I'm just as quick in the 1/4, and quicker afterwards

wait...you brought back a thread from 4 months ago to tell us how you swapped a stock b16 into a stock civic and didn't feel any faster? Well duh. If you swapped a b16 into a CRX or a b18c1/c5 into a crx you would be running low 14s easy. Which is enough to fry your 92 GT Vert by a second.

normally a b16 powered crx run high 14s. my si runs low 15s which was enough to keep up with my friends stock 96 gt. either the 96 gts are slow for a gt or he can't drive. but just riding it in it feels a lot faster than my car because he has more torque. CaTiRo38022.4620023148

A B16a powered CRX will EASILY do a 14.5-14.7. If you run any slower (in good conditions), you suck at driving. Period. GSRGuy1838022.8090509259
