Default Don't Buy Headlights Or Tail Lights From American Muscle

I purchased their Black Projector headlights for my 2000 Mustang, they arrived and after installation and after one car wash they began condensing on the inside...had to remove the lights, dry them out with a blow dryer, and then put sealant around where the headlights join to stop the condensation...I still get minor fogging on the inside when I wash the car or it is a humid day....

I also purchased in the same order a set of their Black Euro tail lights for my 2000 Mustang, I installed those also, and after one carwash not only did they condense on the inside, they also actually had water leak into the inside of both tail lights...I had to remove the lights, dry them out with a blow dryer, and then put sealant around where they join, but this didn't solve the issue at all....my next car wash the condensation was back worse than ever, I'm out $360 on a set of headlights and tail lights that are shipped defective from this company, and I have already complained to them via e-mail over this and gotten no response...

If you don't believe me here are both of my tail lights today:

American Muscle should ensure that their headlights and tail lights do not leak or have condensation before they ship them to consumers, I think it's ridiculous that we have to follow your "instructions" http://www.americanmuscle.com/headli...on-remedy.html to fix something that you should fix...I've started to look for alternate places to buy Mustang accessories since you refuse to address my issue.

Its karma. Projector lights on a Mustang = badddd.

Anyway, that sucks. You probably didn't get ahold of the right person at AM. Their customer service is typically regarded as the best in the business.

The headlights are fine since I sealed them, the tail lights are the problem...I've had them only for about two weeks. I'd rather have them contact me via e-mail so I can have a record of what transpired, but I have seen them monitor this board and if they wish to contact me so I can call them they can send me an e-mail through this forum.

They don't make the lights, so why bad mouth them? I bought a set of turn signal lenses from stangmods and they even said they are not warrantied agains fogging. First thing you do with ANY aftermarket lenses is seal them. They are just the middle man in all this

send your old ones back to them. defective!!! . they company who mkaes them should have to eat it , not a/m or you .
if the second set does it then get a refund or exchange

Whoa. Well, we've got a bit of a problem here, huh

I'm sorry you're having problems with the lights! That is not good at all, but it's a simple fix on our end. Shoot me an email at emilied@americanmuscle.com and I'll get you taken care of.

Someone else said it right, though -- always seal aftermarket lights before you install them. They're good quality lights but they aren't OEM. And even OEM lights have this issue. It's the nature of the part -- my lights on my daily driver do the same thing. I'm just too busy (meaning lazy) to take them out and reseal them.

Anyway, shoot me an email with your order number and I'll take care of it.

Emilie

I had the exact same problem with my after market headlights. But I actuall called AM and experienced great customer service. They did tell me to perform the steps on their site for Condensation, but said if I am still having any problems, they will either send me out a new pair, exchange them for something else, or refund my money! So I have been very pleased with them, and those headlights are great! More than anything, I can actually see when driving at night. They beat the crap out of the OEM lights. Good luck, hopefully Emily can resolve your issues. I have no complaints.
