I just had my car tuned and dyno'd today. I am sitting at 412 rwhp. Adding the pully would mostlikely put me at around 430 to 440 rwhp. I think that I am going to go ahead with the pully. From what I hear it shouldn't be that much of a risk since i am not going to far with the HP.

As long as you have a GOOD solid tune, you should be fine at that level. The tune is the key. Check out mod fords forum - plenty of folks running Saleens at 8/10 psi in everyday drivers. I have the 3.6 inch pulley and dynoed at 440rwhp/421trq so I am happy. (and even if I wanted to go further, I would have to upgrade my fuel system first)

I would say thats a good stopping point. Plus burke0011 brings up a good point regarding the fuel system. I would think anything higher than 450RWHP you would want to strat considering a dual fuel pump setup.

I was told that they will be installing a kenne bell boost-a-pump and different plugs when the pully goes on.

I have heard both great stories and iffy things about the KB boost-a-pumps.... My stock pump is fine but I am right at that line, as at about 6,300 rpms, it is done Saleen05797, I wouldn't worry. at the TOP of my run I was making 9.5+ lbs of boost and you can see where my numbers are - again, it is all the tune. There are many guys running 10psi on Whipples on Mod Fords forum with no problems.

I am NOT recommending anything (just so we're clear) but I will answer your question... The Saleen blower can go to 15 psi. After that, the IAT's get too hot and the blower falls flat. A couple big shops have tested the Saleen to it's potential and both discovered 15 to be the limit. At 16, it's out of steam. Now, For The Record, I wouldn't go nowhere near that on the stock bottom end. The rods are the real crapshoot and it has been proven that all rods are not created equal. Some let go at 450 - others at 550 - but it is a crapshoot after 450 and that's a FACT. You can add a Cobra crank pulley and make 2 psi more on the same pulley you have now. Play around with your current combo and try to dial in about 450 rwhp is my advice.

I would think anything higher than 450RWHP you would want to strat considering a dual fuel pump setup. It is a fact that not a single person has had an issue with the BAP under 550 rwhp. The Dual pump set-ups are overkill for anything under 550 rwhp - plain and simple. If you are under 550 rwhp - the BAP is the best option and over 550 you need to look at a dual set-up. I personally like the GT500 set-up purely because of the extra DM and new harness. I have not heard of the GT supercar pumps failing yet, but if one did, I for one want that extra DM to keep things flowing. The dual set-ups are good for around 650 and with a dual 40 amp BAP, you can take them to about 750 but after that - it's time for a return system.
