Hearing lots of chatter lately: 400 hp, Z28, folks say they like the Z06 looks. I think the Z06 looks like a Mazda.
Anyhow, will you test drive a new 400 HP Camaro (if it ever gets here)? Ohmygosh BUY ONE ?? With 400 HP and anything but a "live" rear axle, it will blow away a GT with CAI, UDPs and a tune. You are among friends, please be honest.

This is just great. Car companies keep coming out with more and more HP. Now I have to go out and buy a blower. I can not have some Chevy Camaro blowing my doors off! As far as test driving it why not lets see what we are up against.
Depending how they look, and the price they will ask... I might test drive... AND buy... Unless the next mustang facelift blows the camaro away that is... (in the looks department, I'll be getting the base V8's anyway, I will never get the H.O. ones since they are just to expensive).
im hearing $30,000 but who cares, i think i paid 31,500 for my gt fully loaded ($100 over sticker with x-plan). yeah, best to drive one to know what we up against. one thing for sure, they will have trouble beating the s197 on looks.

Supposedly the final version of the new camaro is going to be in the transformers movie. I'm not biased against chevy, if it looks good and it fast, I'd drive one.

and everytime they do that, I upgrade my vehicle and save $28,000 + dollars.
Since my pro-GM best friend is constantly talking trash about how he's gonna smoke my GT when he buys the new Camaro, I would have to say no............on principle alone I probably won't drive one. I won't be able to afford one anyways, and my GT has too much time/money sunk into it now to just piss away on a trade-in. No.......I will keep my GT, I will finish dialing it in, and I will bitchslap whatever new Camaro model my buddy drives home in in the next year or so.

If your pro-GM best friend is talking so much trash just ask him what took so long? They stopped making the camaro in '02 and it is coming out in '08 or '09 soooo 6 or 7 years. Oh and they stopped making them because?? Low sales? Make room for SUV's? Whatever. What took so long? Oh yea the S197 is selling so well that cheby has to copy Ford again. Will they be faster? Maybe. Big numbers of the 400 hp camaros probably not, I bet mostly V6 models. fd
hey forddude, nice picture. remember jack lambert? used to love to watch him smoking butts on the sideline while his knuckles were all bloody and bleeding

Haha. Yea, my bud's smack talk is usually pretty tongue-n-cheek....since EVERY GM car he's ever owned has needed constant work and fixing to keep running. Plus, I'm more familiar with GM's performance offerings right now than he is. Hell, he'd never heard of the LS7 until I told him about it. On top of that........he thinks he'll be able to buy a 500hp factory Camaro for only about 32K.
Talk about misinformed.
In the meantime, he'll continue to drive his Chevy minivan.......and dream of ever owning a V8 powered car that will keep up with mine. Personally, I'm not worried.

I won't drive one because they'll be unaffordable. No sense trying something I can't buy. My GT is paid off, so by the time they finally come out (after it gets pushed back to the year 2049), I'll surely be able to blow it away anyhow.

Thanks, I like it too. Hope to have a good season this year even without BC. That is as long as Ben does not start the year off by planting his face into a windshield or have some emergency surgery the first week. I am from southwestern PA so the Steelers are my hometown team. I do not remember Jack so much, but Terry, Lynn, and M Joe Greene are the ones that I first remember from when I started following the team back in the 70's. Ride of the Month has a nice sig pic too. fd
I'll test drive one, for sure. Won't be able to afford one though. All in all..I'm a F-body guy with a thing for Mustangs. I'll stick my my ol' skool 70 Camaro and my new, to me, 89 'Vert and save a few $$$$
Test drive one sure, buy one, maybe, but probably not. There's just something special about getting that look from a guy in what he thinks is a superior vehicle. You know the look I'm talking about. That look when you get on it and he realizes he bit off more then he can chew! PRICELESS LOL. I think I'll stick with my underdog 4.6 v3 with the measly 300hp. Well it started out at 300hp!
Well I heard saleen is working on some camaro models. If he does I might get one supercharged. Chevy also admitted they are already working on the almighty ls7 camaro. But it seems if they supercharge the ls2 or ls3, whatever they put in it, that should make over or right at 500hp. I'll be the first one with the ls7, whenever I hear one of these in a z06 I have to go change my underwear. Hopefully it won't be more than 55k.
