Good luck trying to do that. With all of your mods it will be a good race if he has the LS2.
It will need more than an LS2 to keep up with me........trust me on that. Even with an LS3 he will need some mods to compete. And even if he gets close, I'm one pulley away from smoking him again. He made the Camaro vs. Mustang personal between us.......whatever whoopin I give him, he has coming.
450hp won't be enough for a new Camaro to burn me..........and a 400-420hp Camaro will fair even worse.

I will gladly bow down to an LS7 5th gen Camaro........I have no shame in that. But whether they make an LS7 model or not, I'm not too worried. By buddy can't even afford a used LS1 Camaro right now. I don't see how he's gonna afford a shiny new LS3/LS7 Camaro by next year, especially with his wife having just had twins.
May have to wait for my brother in law........he's made mention of getting a new Camaro when they come out. Between his new ride, my s/c 05 GT, and my brother's new C6 Vette.......it should be interesting.
Chevy discontinued the ls2, so expect the ls3 in the new Camaro. Which means 430 hp Z28. Now me personally, I want chevy to offer the SS with a supercharged ls3. Just because the forged internals. Believe me with the GT500 and now rumors of a 500hp challenger model coming soon, chevy will have something up their sleeve. I just read in my Automobile Mag. that the C7 vette is changing to a mid-engined car. Now I don't know if its true, but it was what they were reporting. Which would price it well out of the range of any camaro. If it is true they could put a 800hp motor in the Camaro and still be cheaper than a mid-engined corvette. Chevy's not stupid the corvette is a world class handling car. They also now if they put a 500hp motor in the new Camaro (approx 3800lbs) and in the new vette (3200lbs). Common everybody on the planet knows who would win that race.
Where did you read or hear about the LS2 being discontinued? It's still a new engine/design and it will be here as long as the LS1 and the LT1 before that.

I have no shame. I would ditch my mustang in a heartbeat for a new camaro, but it must have metallic blue paint job, smoked t-tops and IROC-Z written down the sides.

I would love to drive a new camaro. My brother used to have a 95 T/A. The car spent more than half its life on jack stands (no joke) but when it ran it was amazing. So a test drive would be awesome, I'd be wary of owning one. I have a 96 GT that is basically stock so it has 215hp I just think that it is sick that we're talking figures of double that 430hp. WOW. That would be so sweet.
I just think it's gonna be really cool to have an all new Challenger and Camaro, and a redesigned Mustang all being released at the same time. Things are gonna heat up real quick...
Yes that will be really cool, but Ford needs to be on top lately they have been a bit behind with the h.p. The GT500KR has only 40 more horsepower than the GT500. (not saying 500 or 540 horses isnt enough. Curently my car has 0 horses because i dont have one.) But i think ford and all companies should get back to what it used to be. RIVALS! Ford vs. Chevy and having chevy some what competeable. Also, Ford needs a new super car and race it at alms, but that is another story. Can't wait for the Bullit in '08 and all the other new Mustang designs!

I want to test one out. I used to have a 76 Camero (Uncle gave me free) and I dropped a 327 Long Block totally maxed out. It wound up with 417 HP. It was a rocket but had no suspension or traction. Talk about Squirly. I had more HP than sense!!! Had to keep it straight or I would of died!!!
Anyway, I think the they look great!
Don't get me wrong, I love my Stang's!
I heard here in the Detroit area they would go for about 20 k over sticker. So 50 plus easily for the first year at least!
