Ol Shel is working with FORD to put Ford Racing hardware onto street legal GT500s. They will be called "Shelby Super Snake." The package includes pieces to boost the handling, styling and output.Tuning levels range from a 600hp with a full warranty to a 725HP powder keg with zero warranty. Final assembly will take place @ Shelby's Place in Las Vegas.
The Super Snake will get: 1. FORD racing blower upgrades. 2. free flow exhaust. 3. revised shocks 4. springs 5. anti-roll bars 6. chassis braces 7. 20" Alcoa wheels 8. 6 pot BAER calipers 9. carbon comp hood 10. 3.73 gears
I wonder how much insurance will be for a 725hp car for a 16 year old kid...

A friend of mine took this pic of the Supersnake at the Mid America Shelby Meet we were at last weekend. I heard Supersnake upgrade package to the GT500 would be in the $28,000 range....Next it the Supersnake is the 2008 GT500KR
No, not "probably more." Big kudos to Carrol shelby though. 725 HP Stang, i wouldnt pull up next to it. He after all is in competition with John Lingenfelter (vette guru). The Supersnake package is actually SIGNIFICANTLY more affordable than buying '09 650 hp stock Z07. For a chevy to have that kind of power, you pay HUGE bucks. Kudos

Why compare a current offering to what is going to come out in 09? Has the Z07 been officially announced even?
I wonder what the Saleen Extreme or even the Shelby will look like 09 or 2010... pretty impressive if the HP wars continue. Here's something to think about also. Saleen is expected to offer a upgrade package to the Camaro. Maybe by 09 you can drive a Saleen Corvette!
Welcome to the MF'ers. Send some more Chevy guys this way.
Just my two cents so please don't bring the hammer down on me. First off I stil have not seen a GT500 for less than 15K under sticker. 50K + 15K = 65K 65K + 28K = 93K for 725hp car. Love the look of the car, love the exclusivity, BUT S281E 65K + 10K = 75K for a 760hp car that is lighter and will be even more exclusive. Don't get me wrong if I had the money I would have both, but it seems like a lot of people on multiple forums (not just this one) are making this thing out to be the greatest thing since slice bread. I also understand you could buy a fox body and with 20K make it stomp both of these cars on the track, but I'm just trying to compare apples to apples. Plus I would rather pay 8K for the kenne bell setup and get 700RWHP instead of the 28K. I also understand that the 28K is for all the badges and the right to say you have a super snake.

I think you meant to say atleast 93k for the super snake as I believe the $28k upgrade is only for 600 hp.

Kudos again, go to SHEBLY and Co. for making the hottest Mustang even hotter. The SS is a great looking machine with the HP cred to go a long way on the streets and the tracks.
However, I'm among those that would gladly put that same cash elsewhere. +$60K for a Mustang exceeds my willingness to stay brand loyal. At that price point I would look around quickly, and no late-model would be on the list. Not looking at ADM, that is way too much for this mustang.
