Default new system? questions...

Ok, so right now I have 2 10" alpine e series subs with a cheap @ss pioneer 800W amp. I think I'm getting 2 infinity 12" subs today.

Basically, my questions are...
Would it be stupid to get a custom box made that fits around the wall of my trunk for all 4 of the subs? the 2 12's in the middle and the 10's on the outsides or somthing like that.

And if i did get a custom box made, should i just buy another amp to run the new subs, or get 1 much better amp to run all four. I'd rather just buy another new amp, and if I do, would that be dangerous or cause my car to overheat etc...

If you guys can throw some knowledge at me I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Will

P.S...i know all my audio equipment is crappy and I could get better. Thanks

Default RE: new system? questions...

10's and 12's are too close in size to gain anything from them. If you wanted to match a big sub up with a little sub then maybe if you have everything set up correctly but otherwise just keep one set.......

Default RE: new system? questions...

are you planning on building the custom box yourself? if not I would suggest using a better 10in sub just for the reason that most places will charge you a decent amount for a custom box. Also, if you just went with a really nice pair of 10's there would be no need for the 12's. If you need any help pm me anytime and i'll help you with only the facts that i know. also, i'll post up some pics of my trunk setup at the end of this week to show you what i have, it may be what u want. but good luck with the system build
