Is this the stock steering wheel? I see some cobra's have more of  a "racing" wheel with a Cobra snake on it and some cobra's i seen like mine have a Mustang on it.

yes thats the stock wheel, but the other wheel was also available. if your not going for originality you can put the other wheel on there pretty easily. heck, you can always keep the old one in case you needed it for originalitys sake. speaking of which, you might wanna pop the wheel off and make sure theres not mud caked up underneith where the turn signal cam plate is. also check the fuse box, you may want to break things ALLLLL the way down inside. i have had my entire dash out, as well as all the panels and carpet. it may sound scary, but i did it when i was 16 and it came out lookin good when i was done.

It's  not a Katrina car, My mom bought it when she was 16 as her first car. We had it sitting around our house for a couple of years, October we then decided to get it inspected so took it to the shop while it was there there was bad rain and unlikely the shop was on a flood plain we got a phone call saying the whole shop got flooded out as well as our cobra, water was up to the rear view mirror in it. The car was totaled but we bought it back, and insuerence gave us very little for it. We got it towed to my house and i'm working on it. So thats the story.

It will make for an interesting story when it is restored and people ask the history of the car. Take lots of pics thru the process. Good luck

he's got a great shell for a potentially excellent build. are you planning on trying to restore to stock or are you going to resto-mod the thing?

i foresee a rumbling stroker motor going in there

How hard is it to find parts for these now? When I was working on mine 8 years ago I couldn't find much. Salvage yards had some but they are all but gone now.

I would like to see one with a 427 Windsor.

mine will receive a 408 or 427 clevor one day - just you wait and see

parts are still hard to find, there are few parts being reproduced as of yet - but you can get some stuff, and there are now a few decent sources for used parts.

micah, check phils mustang  II specialty shop in alabama for used stuff. its commonly known as the best source for parts in the world. if he doesnt have it, he can probably point you in the right direction.

you definatly have your work cut out for you, and i might be able to help you with the rear seats for i am going to a black interior from the blue of  1976 that will match you car perfect for that what they came from a white with blue interior cobra II unfortunatly most of the other blue has been sold all i have left is the rear seats (bottom where you sit) will need stiching for its old and needs a new cover but for the price of 45 buxs + ship you will get the bottom (butt area) the back (where your back rests) and the fold down metal piece with blue carpet still on it mustangiiman@verizon.net to reach me, MY77STANG i know i am offering to sell in the wrong section but this guy is gonna need all the help he can get......please dont delete  and also i would take all bumpers and anything that can be unbolted from that car to get the mud out, just make sure you have lots of baggies and a brand new sharpie to label where the bolts came from trust me on this one learnt the hard way
