Ok, so I need some motor mounts for my car. A '78 mustang II. I called the 3 top stores in the area none even see any in the registry. I looked online, none for my year. The NAPA guy even said, they didn't make a 302 V8 in my year mustang HAHAHAHA. "Uh dude it's sitting in my driveway yea they did." But yea if I go WOT in my car my motor will be sitting sideways in my engine bay. So I really neeed motor mounts!!!! Anyone got em for a 1978 302 V8 mustang?

Good news I went to action auto and had the guy come out to my car look at it and match up the mounts to another 5.0 and it will work.

are you sure? i would think people would have tried to match them up before. if it works please let us know which year/model mounts were used. be carefull to check and see that the motor is not sitting crooked or any higher/lower than before, it may cause fan to shroud clearance issues.

i hope it works out, im curious to see.

Sorry I forgot bout this thread. Well, it didn't work. : ( BUT what we did was take the old ones and put a bolt through the middle of them and snugged it up with a nut and now my motor doesn't shake nearly as much. So I suggest finding the ones that are supposed to go on our cars. AND I got a part number off of my orignal motor mounts so i'm going to a ford dealership and seeing if they can order some for me.

good luck with that. i used the nut and bolt technique on my last set, and then STILL sold them on ebay for like 75 bucks. IIRC you can find the one side at pretty much any auto parts store, but the other side is a no go. I happened to stumble across a dealer that had a set of original fomoco mounts sitting on the shelf, but they havent made them in years. try phils in alabama, he may have a lead on something - his info is up in the handy dandy "where in the hell do i buy parts for my II" thread i made a stickey up top of our section

that link just brings us to the main year search page for autozone. can you supply more specific info if you have an alternate answer for mounts? that would be excellent info.

I just searched under 77 mustang w/ a 5.0 2bbl . whe weird part i it shows 3 differant mounts. one for the drivers side 2546. one for the passenger side 2547, and one that fits both sides A2344. I guess these are the universal ones
