It is obvious, even with out a voting, that photolabgirl takes this hands down.
I just want to note that while I never ventured into appearance upgrades, I opted to sink my money into performance mods to build a complete 11.03 second capablestreet race car. I rather own an all around well balanced Mustang that looks good -- but not necessarilyfabulous--that hasgreat power, the finest brakes,fantastic handling,a stout tranny, a built rear axle, along with a top of the line audiosystem. For me,this works out fine.
Great Mustang, Photolabgirl, enjoy it and all the attention that goes with it.
Not at all. I am very happy with my GT.It is very hard to knock on my Mustang. It is a fantastic machine.I had it built to my specs and it is built very well. I sunk 31k in preformance upgrades in her over 3 years - to include a new 12k DSS built Long Block and a 2k built Tremec 3650.
I admit photolabgirl's Mustang looks better than my 02GT --by far. There are, in fact, a great number of Mustang's that look better than my stock body 02. Just as there are better looking women than me.... It is what it is. That is life. I have no problem with any of that. I only pointed out that my agender is different. I went after performance upgrades while photolabgirl went for visual enhancements.
To me, performance in a car is everything. I wouldn't have it any other way than what it is now. That is the honest truth.

[8D]I did add performance mods as well as appearance, I addded a Supercharger and a smaller pulley with upgraded tune. Also will be adding gears soon. I have a 7 year warranty and donot want to void it at this time. When the warranty is up, more performance stuff is in the works ;)BTW 450 HP at the crank is slow? I might not be as fast as her ride, but I am not slow :DI wanted my ride to be fast and look unique.

When I purchased it new, it had an automatic. Ihad it removed and replaced it with a modifiedTremec 3650 5 speed.
I spent 4k on a built up AODe (automatic). It hadvalve body pressure problems and invariblyslipped into neutralwhen I floored itfrom a light. Then theOD band burned out. And it went on. It couldn't take the power and it just didn't allow the car to come out ofturns in the right gear. I didn't feel in touch with the car. I wanted to be in the action with a greater intensity. A stick is the only way to go.

Oh, I love your 351w. What carb are you running? Holley 750 double pumper? What size jets are you using? Also, the coil. I would think you would have gone with the Accel Super Coil - the yellow type. Do you get enough sparkout of that particular coil to feed the dual point distributer?

I would have pissed off a lot more guys on the boulevards around my way in Bayside, New York, if I knew how to shift off line better. I just learned the stick about 7 months ago. I converted my GT Auto to Tremec 5 speed. I still can't powershift and sometimes 3rd gear gets hung up under pressure. I do have the fineSteeda Tri Ax shifter, but sometimes I miss it. Crazy I know.
I took it to the track in NJ not too long ago. It ran down the strip twice, the first run at 11.03 and the second run at 12.88. The first run was driven my one of the mechanics from the shop who built my Mustang over 3 years. The second run was by me. It was my first time down the track. It was very tricky. The surface, the R/T and the need to shift like a demon. I did try my best. But I muffed it up. No one laughed at me, however.
So what this all means is that I have a 12.88 Mustang with 11.03 potential or better. I have to go to the track more often and practice.
What I really like about my Mustang is how it performs on the highway. With complete Maxinum Motor Sports coilover suspension,Bilstein shocks all aroundand otherupgrades to firm up thechasis --along with 512 rwhp -- 65 to 130 comes along in what seems like4 or5 seconds if that. What really does it for me is the WAY it handles at high speeds. It is a rush that can notbe verbalized. You have to experience it. Dangerous? Sure, it has it's potential. I do run4 piston caliperBrembo Brakes with 13" rotors. That helps. Gotta have top line brakes. Most people overlook that because of it's high cost-- now that is dangerous.
I like the old school engines. They are much more simple than the highly sophisticated engines of today. Roller cams with high lift and duration along with a fine set of roller rockers for great valve action, the nice 12:1 compression domed forged pistons bored 60 overto add afew more cubics, a good port and polish job on the heads fittedwith over sized valvesand set long tube headersreally make fora strong sounding radicalair pumping engine.

There is no question about that. The coilovers (Hypercoils)arevery stiff -- amazing for such a small spring. But I have a weaker set for the rear that I use at the track. It didn't take much to change them. In fact, the guys did it in about 20 minutes.
I would like to take it on a road course and really let it open up.
I also have MMS full length weld on subframe connectors, andthethick Blue frontSteeda Sway Bar to help with cornering. I also run on one of the best road tires in Toyo Proxes T1R's.
Never went after aPanhardBaras it would kill traction.

As for my 1965 Mustang I am going to keep it original with its 289, hard work keeping them both in good shape , but well worth it.[8D]I plan on my 05 looking as good as my 65 does, years from now.

Paid the extra for 7 years instead of having 5 years. Went with the Roush supercharger because Roush picks up the warranty and it does not void your Ford one, also had it installed by a Roush certified dealership. I know there are better superchargers out there with more power, but went with Roush because of the warranty and their quality of products. If it was an older Stang with no warranty then I probably would have went with different power adders [8D]. Thats whats awesome about yours, you went all out on performance ;)and didn't have to even worry about all of the politics of a warranty. When the day comes when I don't have to worry about that anymore, then I can really start adding some goodies ;)[8D]

The warranty really didn't matter to me on my 02GT. I mean, I decided toimporve nearly EVERYTHING on the car anyway. One of the guys at the shop recently said that the only thing stock on Janine's carare the seats.... Well, that is a little bit of an exaggeration, but I knew what he meant.
Soon after purchase back in May 02 -- after driving 600 miles or so, I felt that there were too many areasin dire need of upgrade. So, I started doing researchand built my Mustang the way I wanted it warranty notwithstanding.
The Ford Rep tried hard to get me to pay for an extended 60,000 mile warranty for $2800. He said it would not be offered again in the future. But I rejected it when he said that if I so much as change the stereo system, or add an alarm system other than the choice of3 that they offered to install themselves attheir price, I would void out the warranty.
When I rejected the alarm systems they offered, the rep got real upset and said that the car wouldn't last a night on the streets without protection. I said it wouldn't matter. I have insurance for that and besides, those chinsy alarms are installed by every Tom Dick and Harry in town. How hard could it be to get it?
My first mod was a top of the line Viper alarm 3 days after purchase. Warranty voided. It marked the beginning of a long and expensive process of modification.

What made you decide on the 3650? I'm thinking you should have went with a T-56.

It couldn't take the power and it just didn't allow the car to come out ofturns in the right gear. I didn't feel in touch with the car. I wanted to be in the action with a greater intensity. A stick is the only way to go.
What made you decide on the 3650? I'm thinking you should have went with a T-56.
I initially wanted the T-56. I had to go with the 3650 for one reason: The only complete crossover conversion kit from automatic to manual I could find came with a Tremec.
Conversion kits for late model Mustangs are kind of hard to find. I went on line and found a salvage yard in South Carolina who was selling the complete set up off an 04 GT for $1800.
I put another $600 into it and had it built up with special brass forks, new hardensyncros and other keyinternals. Then I needed a Spec Stage 2 plus clutch and an aluminum flywheel, a Steeda Tri Ax shifter and I was done.
One note: The aluminum flywheel was a mistake using the Spec Stage 2 plus clutch. It takes more revs to get going and that in turn eats up the clutch and throw out bearing.
It was expensive but worth it. Automatics simplynegate the true Mustang experience. You can't beat a stick on the open road. This is my opinion and opinions with differ from driver to driver.
I findthe 3650 to bea noisy tranny. It clanks sometimeswhen shifting into neutral - especially when going down hills andmakes noisewhile moving in reverse if the car is not straight -- parking etc.

Exactly. How is this my wrong doing? I've been challenged every time this Brooklyncrew adds some new mod to their rice cookers - a Mitzubushi Spider, Honda Accordand WRX STI. First it was a simple 1/4 race for $100, then 200 and thenthree hundredafter the owner of the STI installed a watermellon muffler, cams and engine management. It Still lost. Then they bring on a guy with a Viper to runmy Shelby (538 rwhp -- but a little slower than my GT). Still beat him by a car. He losthis $100.
Finally, last weekend I was challenged in front of about 40 people -- mostly my friends --to a 13 mile Bull Run with a lot of loops andmergesfor $250 each -- $750out ofmyhandbag if I lost.After the crowd drove aheadto the finish line andat different vantage points along the course for a good view, we ran. The best of the three cars, the STI, finished about 3/4 mile behind my GT. At the finish, they didn't stopto pay up. They split up in different directions.Everyone started booing. That stunt made them look real bad. And the word spreadaround town like wildfire. Haven't seen them since.

Personally I would ban her. She broke our no multiple account rule (more than once I might add) and was trying in a way to fix ROTM and was causing trouble. It's not like she has a spotless past here.
