I just ordered my 2008 GT and they told me i could not get stripes on the 2008. I was pretty dissapointed. I just thought i'd spread the word. Hopefully the become available sometimes before my car is shipped. have a great tday.

Stripes have never been a factory option on the new GT's, and never were gonna be. You can ask your dealership though, many of them will install the FRPP stripe kits for you when your car comes in.
The military program we have offered the stripes on the GT as part of the package with the 2007's. I'm not sure where they were done at, since we don't go through a regular dealer. But either way, it's not an option for us anymore. I'll have to look into it and see if they can be installed before the car ships.
Ford doesn't put stripes on any mustang from the factory other than the GT500 coupes. All other stripe packages are installed by dealerships........or whoever brokers your car deal for you.
Our auto rep said the dealer is in Germany, and they said they could get the stripes and put them on for $737. That doesn't sound right. That's a little steep isn't it? I suppose that's the price you gotta pay to have it done in Europe. I'll pass.
The "racing stripes" are a factory invoiced accessory and and appear on the "Original Invoice" as well as the "Factory Window Sticker" at a MSRP of $395. They are shipped with the car for dealer installation.
If you dont believe me go to the Ford Website and "Build" a 2007Mustang GT. When you get to the last page they are under accessories. Asa matter of factunder "Special Feature" onone of the pages it shows a 2007 Mustang with the"Racing Stripes".

They were offered to me on my08 GT premium(I think only causeI got the GT app pkg with mine) and I went through them (Military New Car Sales) as well, they are an option on the others stillI think asthe 2008 order guide from ford has the option block for them so idk:

i was under the impression you could purchase it as an accessory..i jsut didnt know if you could do it with the car purchase or if you had to purchase it cash/credit. i was hoping to order a vapor 08 GT with black stripes myself...so if this is not possible, ill be hitting up the bodyshops..
Check out the vendor links on the main page and look at Baltimore Street Mods. They offer numerous stripe kits for the '05+ Mustangs. If you're patient, you can install them yourself fairly easily.
