Default 2004 Mach 460 radio removal

Haynes manual says the radio is held by 2 bolts, not the easily removable clips. How the heck do I get the bolts loosened? Haynes has no pics or written instructions.

all you do is take both the plastick peiced off, the one by the clutch, and the one around the ac knobs and stereo, you'll see em after you do that

Default RE: 2004 Mach 460 radio removal

I ended up learning how to do it by trial and errorTuesday evening. Disconnected both cables on the battery, pulled the plastic bezel from around the shift lever, removed two screws underneath, removed the bezel around the center console, then the radio's 2 retaining screws. Plugged the direct connect FM modulator in the back of the radio (antenna hole), inserted the antenna into the modulator, pulled the wires to behind the glove boxand buttoned everything up. Sirius sounds GREAT now.
