Sounds amazing! AHH! I don't know whether I should go divorced and keep two cats or cut them out and do the h-pipe now! Emissions is a b****! I'm scared a cop will pull me over if it's too loud... I don't mind swapping it for smog checks it's just that if it's too loud I don't want to attract the police! Well... I'll make a poll! But yeah, nice exhaust you've got!

Oh, and thanks for the pictures!

v6stang07
06-21-2007, 01:32 AM
it really isnt THAT loud, i just never get on it in town, i stay under 2k and totally get off the gas if i see a cop, the vid doesnt give it justice but thanks

That sounds really bad ass, I'm most likely getting duals with my cats removed. Only problem is, how do you get the cats removed, cause all these people say the shops won't do it for them.

v6stang07
06-21-2007, 02:45 AM
try and find a really small out of the way (shade tree mechanic) shop to do it
that or u could always buy all ur stuff pre fab and bolt it all together
i was just lucky that my local mechanic just got a pipe bender and could do my work, i think he did an excellent job also

v6stang07
06-21-2007, 03:02 AM
ohh btw it sounds totally different today from when i picked it up, even tho my flows were already broken in they still needed time to get used to the additional flow and the sound has mellowed out a lot more then when i just got it, i made that vid today tho so its the best sound

06-21-2007, 01:40 PM
wow sounds much more throatier now, nice i like it. up top it still does that zziiip noise, but blame that on us for having V6 power[:@]

What do you think a 02 mustang v6 with Mac lt headers, stock cats, off road h pipe and true dual flowmaster 40s would sound?

blkfireracer24
06-21-2007, 03:40 PM
ur new exhaust is so sweet

v6stang07
06-21-2007, 08:35 PM
u cant have lt's and stock cats, ull run out of room, u could get some high flows on there tho

blkfireracer24
06-22-2007, 01:16 AM
hi flows arecats right and where canI get some?

v6stang07
06-22-2007, 04:53 AM
any of our sponsors

blkfireracer24
06-22-2007, 07:39 PM
which sponsor I've looked at so many and they talk about front and rear converters is there anywhereI can find a single converter, so the length will go down so I can fit mac longtube headers, mac off road h pipe that fit long tube headers, and flowmaster 40s series true dual exhaust.

Now that you have the cats removed, what is the setup. O/R X or H pipe? With Flow 40's Original or Super?

I talked to Meineki today and they'll do it for $400 with parts and labor, or $320 if I provide the mufflers, but I'm not sure if I can get them very cheap. I'm going to try and find GT tailpipes, get some cheap Flow 40's and have them put on as a kit. One place's labor is only $70/hr and I heard it only takes an hour and a half to put on a kit..so I figure around $100 for labor, $80-$100 for pipes, and if the guy on Craigslist still has them...$50 for the Flowmasters. So that's a $250 exhaust system, and they will remove the cats.

v6stang07
06-23-2007, 12:10 AM
yea thats a pretty good price
for converters, american muscle should have the
v6mustangstuff and im sure some others

i have an h pipe

WhitePony02
06-23-2007, 12:35 AM
Oo, but I heard that a crossover pipe doesn't make a difference in sound. I read that on a website and someone told me that over the phone. Because of the equal firing order or something. I guess it's like when when head fires it goes through (this is on an X pipe) uninterrupted by the next head being fired because its already through by the time the other one is fired. That's just what I'm guessing. How much did you end up paying each time, like the first time with cats on, and then getting the cats off.

v6stang07
06-23-2007, 12:43 AM
i paid 295 for everything with cats
and 225 with everything to take them off and replace with a custom h pipe

i would highly suggest an h pipe if ur goin hi flo or catless, they really help with the sound just not with performance like on other motors, i had no mid before but that cause i had cats

WhitePony02
06-23-2007, 12:52 AM
Oh I see now. Should I get 2.25" or 2.5", I may end up using GT takeoffs if I can find them...but I really wanna put an M112 on my car since I have Metals III this year and one of the guys doing an M112 project is only 10 minutes from me and he's almost finished! I'm thinking 2.5" what's yours?

v6stang07
06-23-2007, 01:41 AM
i have 2.25" but if u plan on addin any power go for the 2.5", thats what i would prolly do if i did it over, its just half my set up was already 2.25 so i just stuck with it

If im not mistanken X is the best way to go for horsepower and torque, but I've been driving around with my o/r for a few days and im not sure if its because noone cares in florida (no emmissions tests anyway) or because it just isnt ungodly loud, but cops still dont give me the time of day

Mac long tube headers http://www.lmperformance.com/15504/86.html

MAC 2-1/2 inch H-Pipe w/Cats for 99-03 Ford Mustang 3.8L V-6 w/Long Tube Headers (hts coated) (in the picture it doesn't show any long tube headers but they might come separate) http://www.aaxel.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=MAC-C38990&Category_Code=mac_cat_pipes_v6&Store_Code=A X

Flowmaster 40's series true dual exhaust kit (only i take off the y midpipe) http://www.lmperformance.com/4337/86.html

v6stang07
06-24-2007, 06:29 PM
u need to get the gt flowmaster catback to go with it instead of the v6 version, that should all fit with ur lt's and the shorty catted h pipe
