Default 2004 Mustang in Winters of Maine

I might go to school in Maine and I hear it is COLD and SNOWY there. Am I in deep trouble with my 04 Convertible? I have Nexen Tires 18" chrome rims. I ntoice the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 has good reviews but they cost an arm and leg. Do I really need these? Do I need to get another car? I want to keep my stang. What do you guys think? Thanks

Is you car an 8 or 6 cyl? As you can imagine, the 6 will do much better in the winter.

Do the nexen's say M+S on the sidewall? If so, they will give you some winter traction but nothing beats snow tires.

It's a V6. The tires do not have M+S. I assume I have zero snow traction?

dude, you will absolutley need snow tires for the winters up here. RWD in the snow is pretty good with a nice set of snow tires, but without them, your screwed, its as simple as that. I had all seasons on my tbird, which is now my winter ride, and the tires would just spin with a light dusting of snow on the road. I now have some Dunlop Winter Sport M3's and they are awesome. They handle like an all season but give the the traction of a snow tire.
