Default 351 W Engine 2v to 4v Conversion NEED ADVICE/ HELP!!

Does it make a difference what Intake manifold i get for the engine to turn it into a 4v Carb.

I currently have a 2v intake right now ..

Im thinking about buying a holley 650 ..

But i cant find a decent Intake manifold to go with it .

Im looking to spend less than $200 bucks for the manifold ..Help! ..

Do I need to make any other modifications to do the Switch ?

And with my 65 coupe it should pack a pretty good run on the streets i assume..

weight of car is rated a 2500 lbs for this model..

1965' coupe

Sure it makes a difference. Intakes are designed differently based on their usage. Some are low-mid rpm, while others are designed for high revs.

Unless you're planning on doing some additional internal hop up work, you might consider a Holley 600 or an Avenger 570.

But i cant find a decent Intake manifold to go with it .

Finding a decent intake for <$200 new will be tough. Check out your local Craigslist or other source of used parts.

No

Changing just the carb and the intake without doing anything will run better, but it's not going to be the massive change you may be hoping for. Horsepower improvement comes from a well thought out plan of improvements. Fuel system, Exhaust, ignition, and combustion.

I'm a little confused I guess. Any of the popular magazines will have what you're looking for to answer the original question.

If I'm reading your right, you're wanting to switch from a 2 to 4v delivery and have a knee jerk reaction from it. Although you will feel some gain, you'll fall short of your expectations. (again, if I'm reading you right, if not, disregard)

As was stated, HP is gained from many things - a simple fuel delivery change from stock will net minimal gains.

Cheers.

actually there was a fairly large jump in HP between the 2v and 4v early 351w motors, and the heads/cam/pistons were the same in both motors. you get such a gain because the 2v intake and carb really did suck THAT BAD on that motor[:'(]

i have a barry grant 650 speed demon, vaccum secondaries and electric choke with less than 100 miles on it if your interested PM me. i have the extra springs to dial in the secondaries and the barry grant tuning DVD to go along with it, and the braided fuel line is included.

heres a pic:
