I'm experiencing garage envy, too... But I also still remember what it was like to have no garage at all, so I'm quite thankful for what I have now: (The white cupboards came with the house. Every few months, we go on a cleaning/repainting rampage to get all my greasy hand- and sometimes shoeprints off of them. A creative mess is better than tidy idleness.) I still gotta build some kind of hanger for the Corvette top. It's getting annoying monopolizing my workbench. I took these shots after I went out there to adjust the Vette's carb and discovered that either the battery is dead or somewhere the wiring is screwy. It had trouble starting last time, too, but I wiggled the connection at the battery and it started fine. Guess I have my work cut out for me!

Toolwench why are you experiencing garage envy? There isn't a single garage shown yet which I wouldn't trade for those cars. What's in the garage is more important than the garage itself...

What's in the garage is more important than the garage itself... Thanks! But what I wouldn't give simply for more space to move around in there. I always have to pull something out in order to really work on anything. I thought about getting a rack, but the ceiling isn't really tall enough and there's barely enough room between the cars for the pillars. But yeah, it sure beats the hell out of the parking space under a tree I had once upon a time when I was living in an apartment. When I moved from there, the only thing I cared about was covered parking and I ended up with a smaller apartment, but a spot for my car in a doorless garage.

I park the daily drivers under the car port or in the street, but the garage still won't cut it. So I'm looking to get 2 lifts. The building codes won't really let me expand the floor plan, so it's worth it to me to raise the ceiling to make it work. It still won't be much room on the work bench, but at least there will be room for some more cars.

Same here for building codes, so right now, I've got 3 in the garage, 3 in the driveway, 1 in the street and 1 in a friend's yard. The only real dilemma is that we're thinking of moving. So, if we do anything to make the garage more workable for us, that virtually ensures we'll move as soon as it's done and not get to enjoy it! Hopefully, we'll find a place with either a bigger garage or a yard big enough for some kind of tilt-up. My husband already knows that I really don't care what the house is like as long as there's room for the cars!
