I'm thinking about getting a cobra.. but I'd be using it as a daily driver. I don't have another car to drive. Perhaps it's not what cobras are intended for, but if I got an 01 cobra for 14k, that's about the price you spend on a regular daily driver anyway.

haha ya i do, im a delivery driver at Jimmy Johns. it is not horrible but it is a little hard to keep up on all the payments right now, god i cant wait to pay it off. but as long as your not mashing your right foot down in between lights it gets pretty descent gas milage

I use mine as a DD. Of course it really will never get driven in snow, because my wife is a teacher and when it snows she stays home and I take the explorer. It would be hard switching to a fuel efficent vehicle with no power, I say go for it.

Yeah... I use to use mine as a daily driver. Then I bought a little 2000 S-10 just for better gas mileage. I never had any issues with mine until I took it on the track this past weekend. If you buy one with an IRS... don't race it until its braced... and if you get wheelhop... LET OFF when it first happens!!
I drive mine as a DD and have no problems with it.
Gas is a little rough, but its the price you pay to drive a beast like a Cobra. I figure your only young once.
Mechanicially the car runs so strong that it wont matter if you drive it every day of the year. Just dont take it out in winter if you live in a area that gets snow.
One thing you shouldnt ever do is buy a cobra and make her a trailer queen. God I want to slap people that do that. Its a car, it was meant to be driven.
I DD mine. rain, snow, high-gas prices can all go to hell. Its not a cheap car to DD. Gas milage is horrible even without your foot in it (dont say its not. My T/A was a hell of a lot more fuel-efficient) and insurance is rediculous. But just about the only time I have to myself is my commute to work and back, so I want to enjoy it. Get yourself a set of winter tires on crappy rims for the winter season and you'll be good to go.

I dont really daily drive mine... but its not a garage queen or trailor queen either. I drive a lil 00' 4banger ranger to work and back cuz it has to sit out in the sun all day long. I keep the cobra in the garage while I'm at work. When I get home and I need to go out somewhere... as long as it doesnt look like its gonna rain, I'll drive the cobra. Weekends are set aside for some track time with the cobra so I'm enjoying mine
I just dont see how some people can garage their cars and never drive them... I payed good money for mine, I'll be damned if its just gonna sit in my garage and rot away

hmm well.. I use mine to drive everyday, and it's not to bad on gas, and insurance only cost me another 20 bucks or so, over my 04' GT.. which is now actually cheaper then my GT because it dropped :-)... Gas milage on hte 03' I get around 16-17mpg city.. and I dont drive it like a crazy man, so i normally get decent milage out of it...
I like the fact that i have really an 11 sec daily driver, it's a great thing to know

I drive mine every day even in 2 " of snow!! It really sucks , I cringe every time I go to work because my car wasn't made to be putting 50 miles on it a day! The gas I can deal with but like I said it the mileage that I'm concerned with. As soon as I sell the fox I'm getting A 1990 Escort GT as a daily driver. I used to have one as my first car it I loved it. Cheap to drive 37 MPG a little sporty and not the slowest thing out there.
You know they made like a 1989 escort with a turbo and a small effects kit like the GT. I forget what its called though. My buddy got ahold of one, really peppy. Suprised the hell out of me.

I daily drive mine. No problems or issues. I hate doing it though because it has such low miles. I bought it with 6K miles on it 6 months ago. My job and school are both within a couple of miles from my houst so I still don't drive it a lot. I only have 9K miles, but I'd rather have a lil beater to daily drive. I'm going to have to look into maybe getting one.

People are mentioning the insurance cost. Once your over 25 its not bad. My insurance actually went down when I switched from the 99 vert GT to the cobra coupe. I may buy a beater down the line because I'm gonna drop some $$$$$$$$ into the car and it needs to last like another 30 years.

after 25 it does go down. I have no idea how young people afford insurance on these cars. What I was referring to was relative cost. Its expensive compared to GT's, to T/A's....hell, I was suprised to find out I can even insure a vette cheaper than the rates on the Cobra.

Even though my badges and VIN say that I have a GT, it's all Cobra on the inside.
I drive mine every day no problem. 17mpg if I don't get on the gas, 15mpg even with occasional boosting.... much better milage than my Expedition, and waaaaay more fun.

My GT insurance in Tampa @ 21 was 240 a month, I now pay 220 with my Cobra at 22... while it's high - you have to pay to play... Then again I make decent money atleast...
hell, with my 05' V6 I was paying 255 a month and i was 20!
I bought my 97 new and used it almost every day except in snow for the first 5 yrs. Since then it is used a few times a week. It is an outstanding car. I drive it hard and it does see the red line quite a bit. That's why I bought it. No issues. My gas mileage is still up in the 19MPG range. Which isnt bad if you knew my driving habits. I am up on the Interstate quite a bit where 85 and up is not uncommon. You have a great car....drive it. (Carefully...look out for the other guy...closing speed is deceiving)
