Default -2 degrees with sct tuner?

Do I want to change the spark values to -2 to compensate for pinging? That's like taking out 2 degrees of timing right?

Thanks.

Head first the first time I always say. I allready reloaded it with -2 degrees at 2k-4k and 4k-8k. I haven't driven it yet though. I could always email brenspeed and get a new tune.

I so wanted to install my gears myself, but my wife convinced me to let a professional do it.[:@] The lack of a press was all that was stopping me and one trip to homedepot would have solved that problem!

see here's the thing.......we don't know if
the spark should be adjusted for the pinging,
or if it's the fuel adjustment. it may be that you
just need to run a little richer, to solve your
issue.....

Well that settles it! I need a dyno and the sct programming software.

Brent is sending me an adjusted tune. He was tight lipped about the spark adjustment.[:@]

I told him I was running my 91 tune with 93 gas with no pinging whatsoever. My 93 tune is more torquey and it has the TC disable which I can't live without anymore. He also asked if I had ethanol in my gas and as far as I know Bp gas here in florida doesn't contain ethanol. I'll have to read the pump more carefully next time.

I know I am running rich and want to lean it out a little bit but I dont know how much I can go. Ever since I installed the o/r h pipe the my stingers are getting blacker...i have cleaned them twice too. I guess I can always get the thing dyno tuned

mine get black with any tune. It's to hard for me to sneak a dyno tune past the wife.

Ok now I am a little confused, is the tire size in the tuner just for the RPM's being adjusted? I don't remember doing that when I went to the 305/45's. I might be speeding and not know it....sheeit. Thanks whoever posted this, I will check this now.

Timing is one thing and fuel is another. if your pinging you can do one or the other. basically add more fuel or retard timing. For the best result, itwould be on the dyno. If you wanted to add a little more fuel, just add 2% at WOT. If you wanted to retard timing go into the sct and at the 0-2000 2000-4000 4000-8000 -1 or -2 degrees or spark or timing. It says spark but thats the timing.

If your running rich, you can back off the fuel a little. throughout the power band or just at WOT. Which is what I would do. but since you have a OFF Road pipe meber you dont have the fuel burning like with the cats, thats probably why your mufflers are black. have you dynoed it. if so what was your air fuel.

Nope havent had a chance to dyno it yet....i was just judging by the amount of excess amount of deposit. I plan to do it shortly anyway, I have been very satisfied with my B amachips tune for now.
