Default Top down for good

Newbie question here. Garage my convertible and will only drive in nice weather. Meaning I would like to keep the top down all the time . I have a cover that I put on when it is in the garage.Have seen some comments towards this.Would I ruin the top doing this? Should I periodically put the top up?

You're gonna get some permanent wrinkles in the top by leaving it down all the time, at worst you might get the material pinched so tight it could cause a weak spot & eventually rip there

If anything, keep it UP all the time, that's the ONLY position you can leave it at and not wear anything out.

Right on, leaving the top down all the time will not be good for it. Think of leaving a taneau(spelling) cover on a pickup off all the time and then trying to put it on.

it will make it harder to close if you every needed too.....the material will need to stretch again. happened to me after leaving it down for a few weeks when new... could not get the top to close... freaked me out!!!

Yeah I would not recommend kepping it down all the time because the material will form to whatever position it is left in. And will not like being stretched after long periods. Mine is down all the time because it has no back window and the whole left rear corner is gone from it. So I won't have a problem if it has wrinkles or cracks whrer top has sat folded

Thx for the tips. Did put it back up after 6 days. Had some pretty good wrinkles and a really bad crease all went away after a few days.
