Default thinking about moving to the dark side (GT)

After months of loving my v6 (got it in december, and already put $1100 in it) I'm starting to regret getting the v6. If all goes well in september I may trade in my '07 v6 for an '08 GT, Bullitt, or Boss if they are available by then.

I'm sick of everyone hating on the v6, calling it a wanna be, I'm sick of the lack of stock horsepower, I'm sick of the cheap designing ford did w/ the black rockers, wimpy front bumper, and no ground effects, I'm sick of the lack of aftermarket products being offered for the v6, where as the GT has every possible modification you can think of, I'm sick of the sound (the SLP's sound wonderful but at high RPM's the tone of the engine overcomes the exhaust and doesn't sound muscular).

I still love my V6, but find myself wishing it was a GT.

If you feel that way, then you need to get yourself a GT. Personally, your arguments against the V6 don't work for me:
[ul][*]The hate on V6's is just the way life works sometimes. I figure if they wanna diss my car, then they can make my car payments. I didn't buy my car to impress anybody other than myself. And I get FAR more positive comments than negative ones.[*]The stock 4.0L isn't a slouch, and a modded N/A motor is fun and relatively fast. Get a power adder (not necessarily a turbo/supercharger - even a 50 or 75 shot) and you're talking serious fun![*]Rockers and bumpers are easy to change. We have a great advantage over many other car makes because we can buy take-off parts if we want to. Other cars cannot do that. I prefer the body lines on the V6 over the GT - our cars look less heavy IMO.[*]MANY of the GT aftermarket parts will work on our V6's, so we benefit through our family association to the GT. More 4.0L-specific parts are becoming available too.[*]Although our 4.0L's will NEVER have the rumble of a V8, our cars actually have a unique sound with the right exhaust. I tend to describe our sound as having a European flair - certainly not a fart can.[/ul]
Again, your reasons are your own. Depreciation on our V6 is kinda high, so don't expect a big dollar figure on your trade. You may want to sell it outright. Best of luck, regardless of your choice...

You love it why does what others say about it bother you, unless you have thin skin,
Good luck gettting a boss or bullit in 08 and if you have that money why didn't you get a GT to start with?
People will hate on any car you have there is always haters, no matter what if you can stand it, then that is on you.
Sure the front could use some work but what does the GT have as far as ground effects? The rockers are painted and the rear is able to accept duals...No biggie $250 your there.
WTF aftermarket products not available....did you bump your head? There everywhere!!!!
Look its a V6 and it will never sound like a 4.6 nor will a 4.6 sound like a 5.4 or a 427 or a 302 for that matter, if its the sound you like I'm sure you'll be happier with and extra $4grand to fufill that wish and buy a GT....Good luck in your GT hunting.

All the power to ya.

Hell, If I could afford one I would do it.

I don't need any reasons to rationalize wanting a GT other than the fact that I want one.
At any rate, I love my 6. Doesn't matter what size the engine is - ITS STILL A MUSTANG!!!

Don't forget how awesome your car is.

If I could afford it, I would buya GT too. But I don't regret buying my V6. I finally came to the conclusion that I won't be trading my V6 for a GT. In the future, when the 6er is paid off...I will purchase a GT next. Both are great cars I think...and if you really love your V6, you won't want to let it go. It's staying with me forever

Plus, even if you do have a GT...you're still gonna get haters saying "Well, it's no SS Camaro" or "It's no Z06" or even "It's no Ferrari". No matter what we have, someone is always gonna hate and say there is something better. But if you love the car, then why does it matter. I think most people here who have their GTs and V6s is because they love the car and don't think anything else is better. I know moneyand affordability is also a factor...but I know that your feelings have a part to do with it too.

Good luck on your hunt!

When I bought the V6, I could have bought a V8 (sounds like a commercial....wow, could have had a V8) anyway, I purchased two vehicles in one day.....2007 Mustang V6 Pony Package and a E-350 15 foot Van/Truck. The amount of money I spent that day I could have bought a Saleen. In fact my husband said to me, "I'm proud of you.....you didn't want the V8."
I knew I could have afforded it, but I knew I would be purchasing a car for my daughter.
The V6 has enough spunk for me. I owned an '82 Mustang GT with a 5.0 engine and I can tell you our V6 has more horsepower. If my '82 GT was good for over 20 years, this V6 will suit me just fine.
I could care less what others say or think......they don't have to drive it.
