I was only calling it the dark side as a joke, if I am thinking about buying one I wouldnt down talk it.

very good points brought up in this section. I am a HUGE mustang fan, I would never own anything else.

heres the answers to some questions from the other pages

- I dont care about the bigger engine as long as its a V8, you dont hear guys complaining that they only have a 4.6L instead of a 5.4L, and would NEVER buy a camaro, or challenger, or charger.
- at the time I bought the V6 it wasnt because I couldnt afford the GT, I was in the process of buying a GT but the dealer screwed me, and I saw a V6 I liked and bought it.
-Everyone has reasons on why they want to upgrade, Im not saying the V6 is crap, Im just saying the GT is an upgrade.

I'll find out how things are looking in 2 weeks or so, if everything turns out on the up and up, I'll probably trade the 6 in for the GT, IF I do it I'll get the GT in grabber orange, or black w/ red interior. I may trade it in in july or august if I dont change details and keep my OT, my squad is changing and depending on the chart change I may not keep the OT and wouldnt feel comfortable buying the GT until my new raise.

If you trade in an 07 anything on another 07 your crazy! Bend over and "thank you sir can I have another?" you're going to take a hugh loss and add a bunch to your loan. But if that's what makes you happy, God bless!

Never, ever rely on OT to make a lifestyle change, especially if the OT will make-up the ability to afford something you can't afford on straight salary. Just wait until you can afford it straight up, don't mortgage your future for a car.............

I still say just pick up a Powerhouse turbo kit :) way more power than even a bolt-on GT, way way WAY cheaper.

Im not going to rely on the OT thats why Im waiting two weeks, because if my chart stays the same, I keept the same amount of mandatory OT, then my raise would make it even easier.

this is only my second car, how much do you think I'd get screwed?

dumb question I bet!

hey,i have a gt but love all mustangs.i know what its like to have ot then have it taken away.happened last year and i'm still recupering.all of a sudden they took my ot and i went from 55 hrs a week to 40.if it wasn't for me being married with no kids,i probably would've lost it.my point is,don't rely on ot for anything because you could lose it or emergencys happen which also happened to me last year,i had 6 emergencys in one year.

well, right now im making around 60k, and Im 24 y.o. I work nights so I get night differential pay, plus I have alot of mandatory OT cause my command is VERY shorthanded on the 12x8 tours, I have no bills other than insurance, and the car payment.

Is that 60K with OT factored in? If so, that works to about $18-20/hr with what you've said you work per week, I'm around $50K/per year(base pay), but I detail on the side to have extra money(L.A. is very expensive!), so I'm probably making equal to you(but I control my earnings as I can do 10 details one month-and make $1-2 grand each month, or just do 2-3/month and make $4-5 hundred). I don't see a problem with you affording a GT, but it's good you want to wait to see where you'll be at in a few months.......best of  luck

the 05-07 GT is a great car but rides like a sports car that it is most definitely not...IMO...im not saying its not a sports car im just saying that it rides like a much sportier car than it really is

i can definately afford it, I just dont want to get screwed.

that 60k is with OT, without it im at like 45,000 base, plus night diff, uniform allowance, holiday pay, with all those and no OT its like 49k and in sept. I go to around 50k base + the previous allowances.

I may buy the shelby GT maybe not.

Styling, Safety, Warranty, Nicer interior. The cobra is an awesome car though, but he may like a new GT better.

Definitely sharp!!

First saw that combination in a 1967 Dodge Charger.

Remember the Man From U.N.C.L.E.? Solo drove one in a few episodes.

The silver paint was an "Extra Cost" option that was hand-buffed.

I think it looks better on the Mustang!

yea the thing is when you buy a kit for a blower with the 05 you get a Hi-po intake and a good pulley...stock on the cobra, if you just put on a smaller pulley and put on an air filter like you get with a Kenne Bell intake for example...you'll be at as much power or more than a KB 05 GT....mine dyno'd with just a pulley and intake at 458rwhp.....

This summer, I will probably be selling my 6er for a vette, because the V6-GT jump is not big enough for me.

Dude thats exactly how I feel. lol I want a vette too in the far future! I just don't think the GT is that big of a deal. There was a guy at the track with a blower a 9psi I beleive he was at like around 450hp I think. Then there was fazm with 12 (3 more) psi with his turbo of course that was making around the same power. Pretty much double the power lol. Are motors can take some ****.  Plus the GTs rods are kinda a bit thin I believe. I heard alot of GTs motors give at around 450hp but thats just what I heard. Both cool cars though.
