My friend has been challenging me to race him in his little civic and has have promised to kick his ass.  Has anyone else been annoyed by ricer owners that think that puny four cylinders can whoop American muscle V8?

I will be the first to break it too you becuase I own one too, the 94-98 mustangs aren't all that fast...A new si would probably beat one

A few mods changes all that though!

It's all in how there modded. Last time I was at Cecil county dragway I saw a CRX run in the 10's! The fact that this car belongs to a kid, I'd bet it's not very fast.

Pink sunglasses don't make you go faster.

thread started is ignorant still obviously, don't gotta do the online challenges with him that will never happen yet, they are completely pointless, the kid will learn the power of his car once he starts racing.

I'm sure that you could take the civic if it's stock or near stock.  But even then that's kind of iffy depending on the options that your car has (gears and transmission) and if you are stock or not.

None taken, Coming to a V8 forum and not expecting to hear it once in a while would be unrealalistic.

yeah that's for sure.  there will always be those hardcore V8 poeple out there who think just because they have more cylinders than an opponent they are a shoo in to win a race, i love seeing those guys being proved wrong tho hah

the new si is pretty quick, i was at the track yesterday and some guy was giving it all it had, icing the intake manifold and everthing, he eventually pulled a 14.96. The majority of his runs were 15.3ish,

I went to a NOPI event in my near stock 01 last year and it was a humbling experience seeing as I was one of the slowest cars on the property. The fact remains though that if you do the same things to a mustang that you do to a 10 sec ricer you you still have a much faster car in the mustang. i.e. turbo
