I have yet to find a body shop that wants to do it. I really want it cut out.

ORIGINAL: Tubra I have yet to find a body shop that wants to do it. I really want it cut out. One local shop gave me a quote of $35-38 to cut it. I'm taking it to another today to see what estimate they will give me. Do a search using the yellow pages for Body Shops in your area. There's got to be someone that would do it. www.yellowpages.com

I cut my own - it's not a big deal really. I used masking tape on the bumper, then made a template from the passenger side (it is NOT a true oval). Then I tranferred the inverted template with a pencil, and used a palmed hacksaw blade to cut inside the line. Then I got closer to the line with a utility knife. Although I didn't do this personally, you could hang the muffler to make sure it is properly positioned before the last cut. Finally, I used sandpaper wrapped around a full soda can for the finishing touch.

we did the cut out with a templet made from the right side. measured the distsance from the outside and transferred to the left (do not forget to flip the templet on the left to match the slight slant. We then traced the outline with a a sharpi and made the cut with a dremmil tool.

Thanks guys.....after seeing all those who have done it themselves, I think I will try and save the $ for more mods. Speaking of $, one body shop (crooks) told me they would charge $80.00 to cut it. I asked why, I could buy a new bumper for around $115. They said they would take the bumper off to cut it. I told the women, "ain't no body taken my bumper off to cut it......thanks, but I'll do it myself."
