Should I cut the bumper now or should I wait until the parts have been put on? Someone on here said they made sure the pipe was lined up right with the cut out. I would think if you use a template from the opposite side, it should line up correctly without installing the parts first.
To be honest, I am chicken to cut it myself, so I plan to take it to a body shop to have them do it.

I have yet to find a body shop that wants to do it. I really want it cut out.

One local shop gave me a quote of $35-38 to cut it. I'm taking it to another today to see what estimate they will give me.

Do a search using the yellow pages for Body Shops in your area. There's got to be someone that would do it.

I cut my own - it's not a big deal really.  I used masking tape on the bumper, then made a template from the passenger side (it is NOT a true oval).  Then I tranferred the inverted template with a pencil, and used a palmed hacksaw blade to cut inside the line.  Then I got closer to the line with a utility knife.  Although I didn't do this personally, you could hang the muffler to make sure it is properly positioned before the last cut.  Finally, I used sandpaper wrapped around a full soda can for the finishing touch.

we did the cut out with a templet made from the right side. measured the distsance from the outside and transferred to the left (do not forget to flip the templet on the left to match the slight slant. We then traced the outline with a a sharpi and made the cut with a dremmil tool.

Thanks guys.....after seeing all those who have done it themselves, I think I will try and save the $ for more mods.

Speaking of $, one body shop (crooks) told me they would charge $80.00 to cut it. I asked why, I could buy a new bumper for around $115. They said they would take the bumper off to cut it. I told the women, "ain't no body taken my bumper off to cut it......thanks, but I'll do it myself."

just buy a gt bumper or a mustang gt. save all this time on cutting

Don't get me started on "just buy a GT." I could have bought a Saleen.....but I wanted the Pony Package.

Why spend $115 on a GT bumper when our V6 bumpers look sexy with dual exhaust?

some how i just dont believe that

Believe what you want Bob. The fact is, at the time I purchased my Mustang I was really looking for a truck for my business. So I purchased the '07 Pony Package and an E-350 15 foot Van/Truck. Both vehicles were paid for in cash.....so yeah, with the amount I spent on both vehicles that day, I could have bought a brand new Saleen.....but my business comes first.

Isn't this thread in a V6 specific category? Bob seems to hang out here alot with his 05 GT. I've seen his posts everywhere and it seems like he just wants to start trouble, but maybe I'm wrong.

He was probably just trying to get other people looking at his signature for his advertising.

Thought this thread would be longer (we were on the third page yesterday). I guess the MOD stepped in and fixed it.  And yes, you are right about BOB.
