Civics aren't meant to increase hp like crazy. Don't compare the progress of a 1.7L Civic to a 4.6L Mustang.
But since you're in a comparison mood, lets compare the ls1 vs the 4.6. Ford finally gave the Mustang the 300 hp it deserves in it's GT. Ford destroyed the Mustang GT nameplate in 93 when SVT was form, it only took Ford 8 years to get to just about the same hp level in the GT as Chevy had in the Z28.
btw... This isn't just my opinion, this is the opinion I've seen stated many many times on this board.

Damn this thread is destined for controversy every topic that is brought up their is an arguement. I guess anytime a 500hp+ Z06 is brought up we immediatly get pissed off at chevy for killing our dreams of being able to beat the new vettes that hit the road. I know how u guys feel its like our GTs are being dusted by the new age everything 
My advice: Just keep modding boys (and the few girls that r here on the forum).
