they arent, but in comparison to what's been happening over the last 10 years, they are starting to look less and less impressive.

Yeah, but it's kind of amusing to see the two people who can never be wrong try and prove that the other doesn't know what he's talking about.

I've giggled quite a few times.

Can someone please explain to me why a C4 corvette is an embarassment to the corvette name?

agree with it or not, I could care less...

but that is my freaking opinion.

You guys are all for speaking your minds, but as soon as I do mine it's completely wrong and I'm called a moron and told that i think "I can never be wrong," like it's really that black or white.

Eh, I know what you meant. It's embarrasing compared to the C5...which it is kinda, but that's what evolution does. I ran a C4 in Mooresville when I only had a gear and a cutout...it wasn't even close. Back before the LS1, no one really had anything to touch it, and they still don't really, if you're not counting GM motors.

Numbers wise, not too many motors compare to the C4's LT1, even today when the motor is over 13 years old. How many bone stock cars run 13's w/o the best driver in the world?

exactly.. 12 years old and still extreamly fast. Sure it's 5 or 6 tenths slower then the C5, and a good second slower then the C6. but come on. Thats evolution. Just like the 3rd gen fbodys, then the LT1, then the LS1. That doesn't make any of them an embarrasment. If you insist that when ever a newer model comes out it makes it's predocesor an embarresment. Then all I can say is wow.

98.. you Ran at Mooresville NC? Suckie 1/8 mile isn't it? WHat did you run? my best there was a 9.4 totaly stock and bogging like you woudn't belive.

I live in Statesville....I've ran at Farmington twice and never at Mooresville. All my friends could get off work on Friday's, which is when we can run at Farmington and can't at Mooresville. We'll probably run at both this season, and some in Rockingham, the closest 1/4 track.

The C4 I ran was on the street from about a 50 kick, I was in my power band and ran all over him, he might have just not been in the right gear, who knows, it was the street. I'm sure you know how much mid-top end power LS1's have though. Hence the reason they're better 1320 cars than 660 cars.

Best I ran at Rockingham, on my first of only two runs with the gears in, I went 8.7 during August, it was pretty hot and humid. Everyone was running a couple tenths off their normal times. The M6 cars were still going 8.4-8.5 @ 87-90 mph though. It helps to launch a bit higher. I've got the headers, x-pipe, 3200 stall, and some Nitto's since then. So hopefully next time we go, I'll break something.

EDIT: can't remember my exact mph...

BWAAAHAHA... your KIDDING ME.. I lived in statesville just before I moved here to New orleans. In fact I am moving back in a few months. I'm surprised that I never saw you there. What was your old ride? maybe I saw it. I even had a 30 member fbody club while I was up there that I started. It really is a small world. I guess you will get the chance to meet/run/hit me after all.. sweet.

I had a '95 TA. You had a 30 member f-body club here....? I didn't even know there were 30 f-bodie's around. Maybe 3000 Mustangs....

If you come back we can run them....it should be fun. Of course, if you keep telling me how fast your LT1 is I'll have to go 3/4 throttle and prove you wrong.

lemme find some DR's and I'll run you.. you should still beat me unless you mess up.. but like I said, I only have a cat back and CAI for power mods. the rest is all suspention. If I had an alum DS and stock 10 bolt with my 4.11's and the rest of my mods I would already be in the mid 13's. but at least I know that my rear isn't going to come apart not that mooresville has traction anyway.

but yeah. our first meeting was also our only club meeting since I moved shortly after. We had 10 cars. in the months to follow over 30 members emailed and were added. We met at the hooters in Mooresville just off of exit 36. There was 9 4th gens and a 3rd gen including stacey from Fbody Motorsports.. It was pretty cool. Once I get back there i am going to get the club back around. Maybe make it closer to 50. There is also another club there that I might try to absorb that had a little over 10 fbodys in it....

Stangpowah, from here on MF, neighbor worked at fbodymotorsports for a while, he also has a '98 TA. Eh, I've only got 335'ish rwtq....that + launching at 3000'ish can't be bad for it....

According to the guys on LS1tech I should go mid 12's if I dead hook and don't bust nothing.

That guy with the EVO I work with hangs out in Hickory a lot and said there are a TON of f-bodies there.

yeah, infact I guess there is a monthly fbody criuse in hickory.

I know plenty of people with mostly stock LS1's blow the rear on DR's. and thats with the stock gears. If you have DR's a stall and gears.... just bring tow money incase. If you blow it I'll give you a ride home. I'll even install your Moser for you at a discount

If you can pull a 1.7 or 1.8 60 foot I could see a 12.7.
