It's possible.. but I would tend to belive that legaly they needed to detroy the pilot cars. They only kept one as a relic to the past... only way to know would be to get the vin off the guy and send it to GM for verification.. then when you get a knock on your door in a few days With about 5 people in suits asking you how you came across this vin number.... then you can figure it's real ;)
But I have yet to read anywhere that there as an early concept 83 that was actualy biult. There are too many differences between the real 83 and what you saw.. Maybe it was an early 84
Well, it seems everyone has sorted out the facts...
Birdieman, I'm sorry you didn't get a race... seems that it is harder to find races to higher up in the race chain that you are... perhaps the guy just didn't want to race up to really high speeds... could've gotten in big trouble... my bf doesn't race much anymore for that very reason, but when a good race like you comes along, its hard to resist... come on down and we'll set up some races for you! Maybe you'll get to play with that Stang finally.

yeah.. but they would still be slow.. and drasticly endanger the ozone when they sat there for 20 mins burning every last ounce of rubber off the tires and never even moving..
But why would you buy a C4 and put an LSx in it? You can just mod the C4 and go faster for less money.. I'm telling ya I can't stand people who think that if it's not an LSx it's not fast...

It doesn't have to be an LS1 or LS2 or LS7 for that matter to be fast. But the cool factor of having a '94 Corvette with a Z06 motor in it would be out of sight.

A friend of mine has a '96 Vette with a 6-speed and an LT4 (LT1 on steroids), I believe the only year and car that came with the LT4. He took me for a ride and I gotta admit, I think he would take out my LS1 fbod without too much trouble. That thing flat out moves.
yes, the 96 grandsport vette with the LT4. I was helping someone work on one. Had a missfire that he coudn't track down so I did it for him.. they do haul ass in stock form. not to mention the pretty red intake.

Without a set of heads, its tough. Guy here has a '97 A4 TA with every LT4 option except the heads. He gets run all over by bolt-on LS1's. He does have a large shot of gas though that he rarely uses, usually only at the track.
He used to be my hero when I had my LT1....now I'm faster than him.
