a totaly stock Z06 hitting 11's? nope. not gonna happen. not without slicks, skinies and a lot of weight reduction and a hell of a driver. even then it would be iffy. mid 12 sure.. maybe a 12.3 again with all of the above but not beyond that. Throw some exhaust and intake work on it and a few other bolt ons and maybe some gears and I will sign off on it..

98LS1 threw up the links to the forum with two Z06s in the 11s a while back. I didn't just make it up, but I don't know what forum it was on.
Im wondering how in the hell a Z06 would not un at least a 12.0. A stock C5 is supose to run mid 12's all day. If they didnt that would mean im running right beside a Vette and that doesnt make any sense!!!

a stock C5 will run 13 - 13.2, you are thinking of the new C6 which will run 12.7 give or take a tenth. a C5 zo6 will run about 12.5 give or take a tenth, two different body styles and two different motors. you are running with a stock C5.

I found an article a while back (after I raced that cammed / exhausted Z06) and it listed the performance stats from 8 or 9 magazines (like Car & Driver, Motortrend, etc.) and the fastest one was 12.5 and the slowest listed was 13.7 (lol!) .. anyways most of them were around 12.7 for factory stock times but just as many were listed at 12.9 - 13.0
Moral of the story, about 10 magazines tested the Z06 and the fastest of all of them were a 12.5 but the next closest was a 12.7

THe dude had wide arse tires but he said they were stock, he did lower his pressure. He was a cool guy but the car was new only had 5000 miles on it and he said it was his 2nd time at the track. I didn't see any of his timeslips so I don't know his 60's all I know is his times when the flashed up.
Eh, I just showed you pretty good proof of one going 11.8 completely stock. So I guess some guys can drive and others can't. I'm sure the average guy will run mid to low 12's in good weather on a good track. But 11's can be done.

I've seen a couple of those videos. They even had people go over the car to verify that it was completely SHOWROOM stock. No slicks, no weight reduction, no nothing. Factory tires, even the factory air filter. It can and HAS been done.
Unless you can go to his vet and verify that it's totaly stock then I will belive what the other 99.9 % of totly stock vettes run instead of 1 that claims 11's on a "stock" car. there is a big difference between stock and almost stock. unless you looked you would never know if he had a lid, DR's and gears.. And even if it is true just because 1 person did it doesn't mean thats what all of them run.. so whats the point in saying that they run 11's? Ryan4.6vert hit the c5 times pretty well.. they are a flat 13 or really high 12 stock. The C6's are a mid/high 12 stock and the C5 Z06's are a mid 12 stock. the C6 Z06's will be well into the 11's stock but not untill then will there be a stock vette into the 11's.

For the record. You said it can't be done. You were shown proof that it happened. Not all of them can do it. But more than one has. Check out the Z06 forum.

I am not even a vette guy.. but you can't just "make up" a little over a half of a second from where 99% of the other vettes are running stock without a downhill track or something not totaly stock.

sure... if it needed to be measured to prove a point.. just like your painting the picture for us.. just because someone claims something to be true that doesn't mean that it is.. you could only have a 6 inch wee wee and that vette could have gears... So someone needs to measure your johnson and rotate the rear and make sure that both of you are telling the truth.
like I said, even if it is true and he is totly stock.. whats it matter? you still can't claim that vettes run 11's. all you can claim is some guy on the net with a vette ran 11's. Things are not always what they apear on the net. I am actualy a leprechan that rides a unicorn to work..
Whats sucks for the z06 is that its around 60,000 for it, and that is jsut insane taht 2 o3 cobras just about right there if you ad up right, Rediculous, but if you g9ot the money why not. But i spend it better ways...gt500 shelby(65)restoed
