which car do you think would win in a 1/4 mile. a v6 with 4.11 gears, underdrive pully, tuner and dual ex or a stock gt?

what year V6 and GT? details!

a edge V6 vs a non-PI auto GT vert would be a good race. an auto coupe is again, pretty close.

94/95- most likely, if they are stock. 5.0's werent the best stock.

96-98- not if they are a manual and a good driver. auto would be a good race, depends on the start.

99-now- your dead.

I drove a 2000 GT 4.6 about 2 weeks ago and I wasn't impressed with it's power. But it sure sounded good in the exhaust. I really couldn't see the difference between my 97 V6. But that is just going by the seat of my pants.

Sh!t i noticed the difference when i drove a gt man it felt good too have torque instead of nothing,  it was a 5 speed it threw me back everytime i switch gears it was my freinds 03 gt. only had mild mods exhaust, intake.  i think the gt will win it has more torque than the 6 will ever have unless you go force induction. if its auto maybe but small chance. I really can't tell you though, you didn't give a year or nothing . I have a v6 too, its ok fast, but really its just a waste too modifiey IMO.  I rather just fix up a gt but don't have enough $$$$$ to buy one

The 2000 GT and my car are both automatics. My car has mods on it so if I was going to race the 4.6 I just might win, but then I don't know. 3.8 to 4.6 ==== .8 not a big difference. But when the car leaves the factory you never know what one is going to be the fastest of the slowest until you drive em.

The stick shift just gives you a feeling of it jumping out faster. Drop the clutch and it does jump, the auto gives you a more steady acceleration.

But then the only way you will know who has the fastest car is to race. I'm not a racing person anymore, I just can't afford tickets or more insurance.

Everyone have fun.

3.8 to 4.6====.8..........  That has nothing to do with it.   4.6 to 5.0===.4.....  I get beat in my g/f's 94 gt by 4.6's all the time.   V6 to V8=== 2cyl  that is a big difference.

You couldn't feel a difference between a 260hp/300tq car and your ~150hp car??
Man, either you have a blown engine or that GT was only running on like 5 cyl.

Are you ****ing serious? Your single port V6 will need WAY more than a few mods. You'd need a blower at atleast 9 psi to even hang with a new edge GT. If you can't feel the difference in power, you weren't driving it right.

Fastest car isn't determined by the race. That's fastest driver. It is a fact that a stock GT is faster than a even modded sixer (bolt ons and ****). You can't argue that 260 isn't a bigger number than 150, or even 190.

I never said a sixer can't beat a GT, I said a lightly modded one can't.

And I posted pics. Try searching the forums in the beginning of may. I picked up the car May 1st.

that's not true at all.  I've run and beat an sn-95 gt before, and run right next to a fox.  i'd consider just an axle-back lightly modded.  There are people running mid 14's with minor bolt ons in 4.0's and i beleive high 14's can be done in the 3.8's with bolt ons.  That's right in non-pi territory and some foxes.

What are your mods exactly? If I remember most of your mods correctly, I'd say a stock PI GT would still get you by about a car or two, but you'd be closer than most sixers on here.
