I've drivin a 01 sixer (my car) and an 01 gt vert, both auto, within like 5 mins of each other and wow...the gt has sooo much more torque compared to the six, and it felt way more responsive. You hit the pedal on the six and like 1-2 seconds later you take off(doesnt seem like much) but compared to the gt you can really tell the difference on power and quickness
you guys should set your goals higher than 15 and 14 second cars...
My goal is to be faster than you, happy?

I drove a 2000 GT 4.6 about 2 weeks ago and I wasn't impressed with it's power. But it sure sounded good in the exhaust. I really couldn't see the difference between my 97 V6. But that is just going by the seat of my pants.
You couldn't feel a difference between a 260hp/300tq car and your ~150hp car?? Man, either you have a blown engine or that GT was only running on like 5 cyl.
If you couldnt feel the difference maybe the cars suspension was that good. A suspension is the key onto how well the car can perform.
Now that's stock for stock roughly speaking. Now a V6, driver, and tranny pending, with 4.10 gears, and a couple of bolt ons may reduce their 1/4 mile times by around .2-.4 seconds. Not much at all, but enough to make a difference in some cases.

i think he just went for a ride in a new edge v6. you should be able to easily tell a huge difference between an SN95 v6 and a new edge GT.

It's not accurate enough to be stickied. Those times are a both a hair pin over, and a hair pin under Car and Drivers, Fords, and others, test times. So they're a range. I can post up the actual times, but those are close enough.

yeah, you take most of them times and subtract a few tenths and you get what the car is really capable of.

Yea, like Nanaki said. The best time, that I know of, for a totally stock 99-04 V6 is 14.9, the best time I've seen for a 95 stock mustang GT was 14.5, so anything is possible, but for the most part, those are the time ranges all of us will land in if we were in a stock car.
