my 88 is lowered an inch all around and the wheels sit right in the wells in the front. It is riding on the original shocks and struts which have 113,000 on them. Will a new setup lift it a little. I plan on putting some wheels on soon but am worried about rubbing.

New shocks will not change the ride height.... you will need new springs for that....

For the shocks/struts I would suggest the Tokico HP shocks...   http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=937

For springs (to help raise the car a bit) I would recommend the Ford Racing B springs  http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=260

Sincerely,
