In case you didn't see this discussion in the general 2005+ section:
I just did this today -- Mike Rey had some extra that he was kind enough to give me at the MRT Open House yesterday, quick install job this afternoon about 15 minutes -- thanks Mike:

You know, it would be easier for me if I took the darn computer outside to the garage so I could read the posts and look at the car at the same time!!!  New to all this so I keep running back and forth to see what everyone is talking about!
So about these door welts... Those look like they just add that "finished" look to the door panel. I like those! Will have to order it for my pony.

I know what you mean about running back and forth to the garage!
For a quick and cheap mod it really does finish off the door panel -- after I did the first side, when I looked at the other side I couldn't believe how plain it looked without the welt.

Looks great! It's on my list to do.....just can't decide if I should get blue to match the outside or silver to go with the accents on the inside.

Me too, I can't decide what color. The interior is the dove grey leather, grey panels, and a black dash & center console. The outside is the silver with black racing stripes. I think I'm leaning towards black welts?? but not sure if that would stand out too much.

Do you have a photo of your interior? I think you are right....black would look nice, but let's see the inside to get a better idea.

The black might look good Rowdy with your black stripes.  I went with the white because my car is black with white stripes.  I was worried that it would be too much, but the contrast carries the theme inside very nicely.   A picture of the interior to get a better idea of the contrast would help. Even if you decide you don't like it, the cost of this mod is so cheap and it is so quick that you can change it out in 15 minutes for another $15 or so.

Here is the inside. I looked at the grooves where you put the welts, they are pretty well spaced, is the welt material pretty thick to stay in the wide gap???

Somewhere on this forum a guy said it couldn't be done unless you had the interior upgrade.....I wonder why? The gap in your door looks like it would work.
Yep, I think black would match the black console and dash in your car.

Your gap looks a lot wider than the one in my IUP - so it may not work unless you were to use a glue of some kind to hold it in.  On the IUP package the gap is a little narrower, and the friction is enough to hold the welt in place.  If you could make it work, I think that the black would look good.

DRWS10-- I found the stuff to do this at http://mrmikes.com/trimbright.htm

I ordered the samples so I can see if it will fit in the gap or not, before I buy a whole bunch and can't use it.
