Default high miles on 5.0

Anybody have high miles on stock or modified 5.0 without a rebuild. I have 185,000 miles on stock 5.0 and 5 speed and was wondering how these normally lasted.

there are TONS of factors when it comes to engine life, my gt has over 223K on it and it still runs pretty strong, my advice is drive it till she blows!

216,000 and 100% stock for the moment. It runs pretty strong for the miles, but it was female owned since new and not abused.

300K+ rode hard put away wet more times than I should., got mine used in 2000 don't remember what the speedo said when I got it but I have rolled it over twice! It also is not the factory speedo so no telling how many miles it had before the change plus there was about 4 months I ran a stock speedo in it because I thought I had a bad speedo, ended up being the tranny. currently reads 283xxx. I see no evedence the heads have ever been off, I have changed the intake to a GT40 Explorer and back to modified stock. Before I got the car from my dad he had replaced the oil pump and fuel pump. I have replaced the water pump twice, and the electronic module on the distibutor twice. only issue I have now is the oil pressure fluctuates a little but I'm sure that is due to worn bearings. Ran it hard at the track for 9 passes just last week! My only issue has been the T5 ben thru 4 in 7 years! Keep her tuned up and the oil changed, it should treat you right!
