Here it is ladies and fellows. It took me all of a dy to edit this so dont be too harsh on us. LOL Hope you like it.

P.S. The long black spot right after the 13.02 run was suppose to be a message that said "I was gonna wait till I ran a 12 sec run to post this but Im gonna wait and make that a seperate video"... but this is it.

Clicky Clicky here :D (http://www.streamload.com/Deliver/Deliver.asp?cxInstID=14129660&nodeID=83456204&returnPage=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Estreamload%2Ecom%2FN odes%2FNode%2Easp%3FcxInstID%3D14129660%26nodeID%3 D372865018)

jdaniel
12-24-2004, 03:46 AM
Nothing. Actually he had cams. Thats the only mod he had that I guess I dont have. I would love a good set of cams. I think im gonna wait for the FI though. :D

Nice nice. Man I cant wait to be running times like that, I'd be happy as hell if I could get into the 12s. I agree with you about waitin to get those cams, that way you could get a nice sc grind.

jdaniel
12-24-2004, 03:56 AM
Thanks.

Thats my intentions as of now. I really dont wanna stay NA. FI is the way to go.

i think reaction times dont affect ET. the clock starts only when the car begins to move, not when the light flashes green.

It may not affect you actual time in the quarter, but it sure can affect the outcome of a race.

I ported the stock plenum and got a 70mm throttle body the same time I did the s/c, so I never ran with them NA. I ran 13.51 before the cams and 13.43 after (untuned). I also did this in the dead heat of summer, 90+ degrees and I never dropped the tire pressure in my Nitto's low enough to hook (I didn't know) so my 60' on both the 13.51 and the 13.43 runs were high 1.9's. My 13.51 NA runs corrected to 13.0's and my 13.43 run corrected to a 12.8 - so like I said the heat plays a huge roll in track times. Just ask JD what he was running 2 months ago compared to a month ago (with the same mods) and he'll tell you.

To give you an idea, I have the same mods right now as I did when I first got the s/c on. When I first ran it the best run of the night was a 12.4 in 85* weather. My times got about .1 quicker each time I went to the track (twice a month) as the weather cooled down. I've run in the 11's 4 times now and its all due to the weather. When it heats back up in the spring / summer my times are going to go back to low 12's unless I mod the car more.

BTW - nice vid, very good sequence of clips :D

VERY TRUE! Weather is THE biggest role in drag racing besides driver ability. If you are running in hot thin air then you wont run good times at all. Same goes for high elevation.
Just three months ago I was struggling for a high 13 run. Now im trying my best to pull a 12 sec run. lol Joe is a good driver and to pull a 13.4 in 85-90 degree weather is great.

wow great time and u rt time is .6, if u had rt like my friend .2, u would be in 12.7,

REACTION times doesnt have an effect on trap times. The only time you really need to worry about REACTION times is when you are bracket racing and you have to get off the line as soon as possible to stay consistant. I was also running a .500 light. A .600 on a .50 light is like a .100 on a .000 light. ;)

EDIT: One of the guys pointed out my mistake here. I put 60' where I meant to say reaction times. Sorry. lol

Get a progam such as Pinnacle 9 or Windows movie maker and go to town with it. Im still learning a LOT. I dont have much time to play with it because of work and so on. But everytime I do mess with it I learn a lot pretty fast. It took me about a half a day to a day to edit this one. Pretty simple. You also need a good Digital Video Camcorder. That makes life so much easier.

Thanks man. The donuts spun a lot faster without the Nitto's. And trying to heat the tires up on the street with only 270-280 hp is almost impossible. LOL They grab very well. My clutch was pretty soft after all that. :D Im upgrading to a spec III sooner or later anyways.

I ran there a few times before I blew up my clutch. My best was 13.8 @ 103 (no traction)

That is one of the fastest 4.6s i have ever seen. WOW! Im impressed. But gotta correct some of your last statements though. 60ft has everything to do with the race.No way you would have those times with a 2.0 ,60ft. Unless i wasnt understanding what u was saying. Good run. Nice video but music well maybe im just old school hard rock kinda ,Korn dude.lol:D

jdaniel
12-24-2004, 03:31 PM
Yeah, I talked to the owner and a few other guys there and told them that they really need a good VHT treatment, espically after it gets cold like it is now. Lay that sh!t down like every two or three hours. When I ran those runs in the video I was at 24psi rear tire pressure and when I let it down to 16 psi all I did was spin off the line. Traction does suck there. Im headed to Ennis or San An just after New Years to run that 12 second pass. :D

Dude, switch to BFG Comp TA DR's and I promise you 12's, money back guarentee! [8D]

jdaniel
12-24-2004, 05:34 PM
LOL Thats trees. LOL I guess the sap that drips off of them makes for better traction. LOL I was grabbing well with the Nitto's. I just dont want to break any thing.

Dan04COBRA
12-24-2004, 05:40 PM
Man, I think thats the most ghetto track I've ever seen. I'd hate to be running in the right lane. I mean, you have a tire blow out and you hit guardrail, then giant trees! Ain't that some sheit!

jdaniel
12-24-2004, 06:11 PM
Ive seen it happen too. I told everyone when I was struggeling for 13's that the track does really suck. Its good for an amature track but even the door slammers get pissy about the track conditions.
