errr. I could not bring myself to bring the rpm up there.

I normally shift around 2,000 to save gas, and cruise at 1300.

Or when My boomtubes scream. Then I shift

Wow 1300 is a little low to be cruising, do you get pinging at all? Remember that letting it lag is more damaging to the engine than running it at 6K on every shift. You also have greater risk of bending a rod....just my .02....

thats what i do too, is there really something wrong with cruising that low? i mean 3.40 a gallon, V8, and high school student is not a good combo

You stand more risk of engine damage lugging it around at 1000-1300RPM than 5-6K. Seriously you don't want to bend a rod and be out the 3-4K to rebuild the internals. I understand that you want to save money and all, but I would NEVER let my car go below 2K minimun on the RPM's.

Why would the engine get damaged if its running at a bit above idle, if the engine is not showing signs of strain than it should be fine, as long as the valves are not jumping around because of compression strain then it should be more than ok. My buddys automatic cruises around 1600rpm @50mph and around 1700rpm @ 20-25mph and hes got a northstar v8.

I am able to hit it, but I cant chirp it either...

I got some delete plates, intake and a tune coming in this week, so that should do the trick.

I ran my car today, 13.8 quarter mile at 117mph...first time running a 1/4 mile and all i've done is an axleback and the UDP...

I was trying to chirp third for a while and just couldnt do it...but i havent missed it yet.

Trying giving it a little bit of gas while you are shifting, so pop the revs up between shifts and it should chirp the rubber out a bit..

umm yeah something doesnt smell correct.....
