ok, so i was drifting my 91 turbo mustang, hence the nickname.... and my lsd rear end busted, at least that's what i'm thinking.... i was having problems, with this loud clanking noise when turning and backing upa nd turning... anyways, i was out drifting one night and now my rear end is f*&%$ed.... put it in gear and all it does is grind in the rear end and i'm not sure what to do, how much it will cost to be fixed... any help anybody?

im not sure about it being an 8.8, i haven't looked at it, but it's not a stock 2.3 turbo... the motor is from an 88 thunderbird... not the rear end
oh well it's a 7.5 will 3.45 gears most likely. if that's the case you have 2 choices re-do the 7.5 which is fine or swap a v8 or turbo4 8.8
if the rear went. check to see if there is any slop in the driveshaft compared to rear yoke movement. it the driveshaft can move at all whilt the yoke is stationary there's your problem
