I just got my Motor Trend Mag. yesterday and low and behold on the front cover they have the Shelby GT500KR! Boy is my mouth drooling!
In the write up it begins with, "BOY,YOU MUSTANG fans are a restless bunch. It's barely a year after the release of the most powerful factory Mustang ever built-the 500-horse 2007 Shelby GT500- and already you're moping around like a horde of hungry Oliver Twists begging for "more, please."
The GT500KR reports estimates the car can do 0-60 in 4.0 seconds! Look out Z06, I see a Mustang about to pass you!

ESTIMATED MSRP $65K, look for $99,999.00 off the lot. (maybe more) How many "specialty Stangs" do the MUSTANG fans need ? ROUSH SALEEN Parnelli Jones' GT 500 Shelby GT etc...etc...etc... That's like 18 or so models above the GT, shoot maybe after it's all said and done, OUR cars will be the collectibles !! JK Seriously, though, I'm glad this has become such a frenzy, and the competition has not yet caught up. I wonder why FORD is bringing it out in Spring of 08, while they should be waiting, and introducing it with the new 09 styling.
I don't think the Super Snake counts as stock exactly. You have to provide them with your GT500 (that you already own) and for $12,000 they make it a Super Snake. All fine and dandy, but if you take the 750 HP package, you have to give up your warranty.
So intstead of stock, I'd call it something like "Highly dealer-modified, non-warrantied, ridiculously expensive car"

Ok, when can I order one, and how long will the wait be. Some guy in Delaware waited 18 months for a Shelby GT500 conv. SO I thinking waht, 2 years. And the dealer only did a $5000 mark up. But to order you needed to but $5000 down.
Would be nice, wouldn't it.

I think this is the paragraph he is talking about with the base price........
Buyers will order the KR through Ford dealerships. The cars will begin life as GT500s (though with the lower 3.73:1 rear axle and short-throw shifter factory-installed) before being shipped to Shelby's Las Vegas facility for engine and other mods. Ford and Shelby will build just 1000 examples. The GT500KR is still too far off for final pricing, but given its fancy carbon-fiber body pieces and other refinements, it's a safe bet that it'll start in the mid-$65K range. (GT500 owners will be delighted to know that Shelby will also offer many of the KR's upgrades in aftermarket kit form.)
If it was in the 40s it would be too much for me!! lol It doesnt hurt to dream......one of these days.....something about that car just POPS for me!!!!!
