I'm referring to Stowe's link, 2nd page big block on the bottom est. BASE PRICE. Everyone go and read it, and for those of you that do,.... PLEASE POST what you see listed. 07 Stang has to put up my quote in red and blue letters like I'm FOS when it's pretty simple to see who can't read, but feels,........ they have to be critical of those that CAN.

I read, and once again on page 52 at the bottom right hand corner in a block it says $53,000. How hard is that to understand? If it says it's more somewhere else, then fine, but my point is it's in that block along with the vehicle's specs.
That KR would definitely be my dream car. It's not SVT though. SVT allegedly isn't dead yet. There is supposed to be a new Lightning in 2009. And if you thought Chevy would just roll over and die, they won't. There supposed to be working on a Corvette SS.... (600 HP)....

The Super Snake is my dream car. GM is making a 650hp blue devil. That is their "secret" project. There is also a 700hp+ C7 Z06 slated to come out in 2009 or 10. Motor Trend says the base c7 will get the current 505hp Z06 motor, and the C7 Z06 will be supercharged.
I just can't wait to see the specs on the Super Snake.
Wait, wait, wait. Let me get this straight. The GT500KR is the analog of the Shelby GT. It's a tuner version of the GT500, right?
Just an air intake, tune, gear swap, exhaust and maybe an FRPP suspension kit.
Ummm...and that's worth $65k MSRP and a huge mark up? MSRP for the GT-500 is $46k. (Dealer mark up excluded.)
Couldn't you do the same modifications to a GT500 with no more than 8 hours of labor and about $2k in parts? I must be missing something. There has to be some reason for the additonal $20k cost, or is it just for the name?

Not too sure about $2000 and 8 hours of labor, but yes, you could do all these upgrades. If you're going for the look, you'll need the hood too, which is carbon fiber and will probably be more than $1000 IF they ever sell it. I have asked Amy B. from Shelby directly about this in another forum, and they are now saying that they will offer a similar hood to the KR hood but in fiberglass and with some changes.
But excluding emblems and the hood, you could buy parts probably right from Ford to make your GT500 (or just your plain old GT) just like this KR. I agree with everyone that this thing is just AWESOME, but you are paying mostly for the name. At 1000 units, there is NO way it will sell for under 90k....my guess is more like 115k. It's for collectors who have more money than all of us combined, and they are going to have them no matter what Ford dealerships ask for them.
As cool as the KR is, I am getting sick of special editions that I can't afford. The only GT500 I have ever seen on the lot was selling for 72k....the KR will be a lot more than that.
