Painted Mufflers?
I bought two GT takeoff mufflers a few weeks ago. I would like to paint them silver. Any recommendations on the type of paint I should use?

I used barbeque grill flat black spray paint and had no problem with it coming off. It's rated at 1200 degrees and cost $6 at the local hardware store.

Any brand as long as it is heat tolerant paint. As stated before, BBQ paint will work. They also make automotive paints for hi temp in many colors.

Yeah, I thought about the BBQ grill paint. I used flat black once on my grill and everyone thought it was new.
However, I would like to paint the mufflers silver.
I'll check some shops tomorrow.

I also saw some 1200 degree paint at Autozone, but I can't remember if they had silver.

thanks, there's an AutoZone within 3 minutes from here and an Advanced Auto across the street from there. Hopefully someone will have what I want.
I want to get these mufflers painted before my pipes come in.

I'd like to clean up mine, too. Are most people painting the exhaust tip with chrome and the muffler with flat black?
