IMO, our moderator does not behave how a moderator should. In one thread someone asked what  a shaker hood scoop does and several people said that "it looks badass." Our moderator comes in and says "it's not about looking badass you dumb little pricks..." He later edited that out of his post but I still saw it and I'm sure others did too.

Another time he told me that I'm a "nobody" because I have a "fake avatar picture." Is that really how a moderator should act? His job is to stop people from acting like that but he does it himself.

Another thing I don't get is that when an EFI topic comes up he'll move them or lock/delete them. If those don't belong here, why are his posts asking how much we pay for gas ok? What do gas prices have to do with my classic mustang?

Members of MF are also not the only people that have had problems with Soaring. At another forum I'm on, someone posted a link to this site and gave a warning because Soaring posts here. Apparently, he was on another forum and was eventually asked to leave because of the problems he had with other members.

djmabe, look its people like you that give our hobby a bad name and the reason i got tired of posting here...anytime we old school guys(im 21) but a purist, suggest something most of you tell us to stop hating on restomods and stuff, but then you flame every forum where someone asks a question your answer to everything is a t-5, stroker engine, and 14 inch disc brakes, 18 inch wheels, and coil over suspensions...so quit being hippocrites, we can suggest what you like and you can suggest what you like, but when it comes down to it all you all are doing is wasting money if you knew cars you would realize that...you put tourqey cams in strokers and wonder why you have no high end power, complain about drum brakes and manual steering and how your car is undriveable, undriveable really? i mean manual steering and drum brakes only worked for oh i dont know 70-80 years just fine when they were the norm, but yes it is so undriveable, as for suspension, give me 2000 bucks and give you 4000, i bet my conventional style suspension will work better, its called using quality parts, technology doesnt always = the best thing out there, quit being a bunch of cry babies and grow up, you guys slam us about being purists and you get all your info from a mustangs plus catalog, wow i bet yall are just lusting after a ronster or a ring bros restomod, or an eleanor pos...we go to a car show my 427 powered sportsroof is sitting beside your, 351 clevor with 6 speed coil overs and chrome rims, guess who will get more compliments, me not you...

Troy,
I agree with you. I do like the problems that the 'mod-squad' type comes up with, it's comic relief in Mustang land. I must point out one important point - who holds a gun to the head of anyone who posts and tells them what to say?

Seems the same 2 or 3 members keep rocking the boat.  If you know someone isn't a restomod fan, and that it's quite possible they will respond accordingly, why keep making an issue of it every opportunity?  Aren't there sites dedicated to restomods, and if so, why don't those who are unhappy here go there?

btw I like white letter tires on classics

restomod or original, it is YOUR car and YOUR Choice to do what you want to it,  just cause someone put an aftermarket radio in their car, remember ITS NOT YOUR CAR,  why get all angry over something thats not yours?  seems a little stupid to me.

ya im gonna agree that the first thread really shouldnt have been locked but at the same time i disagree with that thread. their is probably a good 60/40 split (almost half original/restomoders). i know i threw a couple new tech things in my car such as disc brakes and new suspension, wanna do a rack and pinion conversion next. plus each mustang is just the same old same old, each one is different and each on i can gurentee you has its own personality., basically as atomsk said....to eac his own and do what you want with your car. and dont bitch that other peoples car look plain cuz their original

i think this thread deserves more locking than the first one

I think we need to only lock or move threads if the rules are broken.  Perhaps the rules need to be modified.

Hey Glen, How about un-deleting or un-sticky that one.  The size of and number of posts is nothing compare to the worthless crap in OT.

Just respect each others views and cars.  It shouldn't matter if we have restomods, customs or originals they are all mustangs.  I don't know about you guys but I joined this forum to gain knowledge and spread knowledge about our hobby.  If I wanted to argue I would tell my three year old that she needs to go to the potty.  I am a member of two other forums and not once have I seen topics like this.  What is the problem with this picture?

There is not one direction we should be going with our cars.  We are all individuals and make our own decisions.  Respect others and this subject will be done for good.  Man, I feel like a 1st grade teacher right now...... sad that it has gotten to this point.

What is a restomod?
quote:

What Is A Restomod?

After talking to many Mustang enthusiasts over the course of many years and hearing what each one considers the difference between stock and restomod, I have come up with a short one line statement that I feel best describes what a Restomod Mustang is:
A Restomod Mustang is a Mustang that has been intentionally changed
by using products that are not original for that Mustang.
The key words in this statement are 'intentionally changed' because that tells us that a decision was made to change the car from factory original. Restored and modified or restored and modernized, if you prefer. Some of these intentional changes can be stereos systems, aftermarket tires and wheels, engine dress up kits, paint work, interior color combinations, and anything else that someone does to their Mustang that intentionally makes it look, drive or perform differently than when it came off the assembly line.

Who amongst us doesn't fall into this category at some level or another?  Whether it is your Pertronix ignition, non-stock one-piece Monte Carlo Bar or Export Brace, radial tires, synthetic oil, halogen headlamps, one-wire alternator or hood scoops, T-5, or fuzzy dice, it is a deviation from how it rolled off of the assembly line.  As far as I can tell, there seems to exist a sense of elitism on this board that an opinion is somehow more valued and/or others devalued because one's car and/or ideas more closely resemble the original "off the assembly line" condition.

easttenmotors, I don't know what you think I wrote but you're way off base. I don't have a problem with stockers at all. I'm just making an observation that the other brands have a better quality and more quantity of the modded cars than us Mustang guys. The majority of our modded crew are still looking like they did their cars back in the 80's. At the shows, thats what you see if not the stockers. That's all bro! I will say after reading these post, it seems the stocker guys have a little chip on their sholder for some reason. No need to get your panties in a bunch if you don't like modded cars. I love all kinds, I would just like to see a better quality of modded Mustangs out there. Maybe I didn't express myself properly in my original post yesterday? To assume your car would draw more attention at a show over mine is a little childish. That's not what its all about friend. Good luck with your car, I'm sure it's a nice piece.

For the record, my original post was about the Modified Mustangs compared to Camaro's, Challengers and other cars at a show I went to. I never said anything about stockers against modded Mustangs. Look at the shows, the Chevy and Mopar guys have better quality modded cars than us Mustang guys. That's all guys. Hopefully the stocker guys can relax now.

Exactly!  Especially for people like NorCalTroy and BlackLX.  What happened a long time ago has absolutely nothing to do with this topic, so quit bringing it up.
