ok i don't know if this is in the wrong spot so sorry if it is. well my girlfriend goes to school with this d*ckhead who always talks **** on my car because its a V6 and a mustang. now he drives im guessing a 1986 (or somewhere around there) monte carlo SS i don't think he has anything done to the engine from what i can see he still has stock exhaust. now ive had enought of it and ready to ask him to race so he will shut up but i don't wanna look like an a*s and lose. now i think i can beat him becasue his car has to be alot heavier and i read on the internet hes only got 180 horses but i couldn't find the tourqe. so what do u guys think?

I can't find the torque either, but I'm guessing it'll be a drivers race. Is it auto or manual? Is the V6 stang auto or manual?

remember that show Titus?  the one with christopher titus?

I remember an episode where he dragraced some guy with his mustang, and to win, his girl signalled go by flashing both drivers, and the guy titus was racing stalled cuz he was stunned...

the only moment I remember from that show... heh

Not every Chevy SS is bad ass. In the early 60's you could get a Chevy 2 SS (before it was a Nova) or Chevelle SS with a 230 ci straight 6. If your car is a split port I think you would win but it would be close.

my car is an auto i don't know what his is but if i race him i plan on slide shifting (i thinks thats what is called) when u got 1 then 2 then drive

just line up, keep it in drive, take the track off, put the overdrive on, keep the revs up and try to get a good launch and see what happens, tell get him to race u around the block or something your car is gonna handel a lot better. that way if his car is faster no one will know cuz u took the corners 40km/h faster then him. and he is just gonna spin the thing out make sure you drive your car really hard for a couple days b4 this race so your car knows what to do... shift at nice rpms.  and dont spin the tires at take off. then after the race sipt in his face and tell him you car is faster and your a better driver

Your car has an on board "learning computer" which adapts to your driving style. For example if you always floor your car when you are already moving (I dont know why you would always but w/e) your car will set itself up to be ready to downshift even if you dont go anywhere near WOT. It actually mentions this in the cars manual. You can reset it by disconnecting your battery, then your car has to learn how you drive all over again.

its also how dealers know how hard you been driving your car when the time comes to tdo a warranty repair

leave it in d, around 5300 rpms in first gear pull the shifter back from D to 2, hold till 5400 rpms in secon dand go back to D

i think u can take him but def do what mustang man said but ur first shift from D to 2 shift at about 4600 rpms instead of 5300
